Ayup. The free version doesn't block pop-up ads, but it does get rid of a lot of annoying banner ads and also blocks some of the worst cookies. I would recommend it.

I signed up and it works great.
Many times on some sites there are so many adss it's hard to tell which are ads and which are links.
This really cleans things up.

I started using it when the flashing banner ads on AW gave me headaches. It's been great. The only problem I've noted with it, is I have to turn it off if I want to visit the forums on Baypal. For some reason, the forum threads won't show when AdSubtract is running.

I started using it, but for some reason, it started to crash my system, until I uninstalled it, and the problems ceased.

I have been using it for a few months now. Sometimes it causes problems when I am uploading pictures to AW's Image Hosting, it causes everything to freeze up. Now I just disable the "Adsubtract" temporarily before I start uploading. That is the only problem that I've encountered. It works great the rest of the time. --Ann

It messes with my home network, and messes with my proxy settings.
Don't need that.

I downloaded it but have since took it off my startup due to it freezing my computer. I noticed it slowed down my computer quite a bit also. I'll probably uninstall it so I have room to install something else that I'll end up not using...LOL

I've used it for several months with absolutely no problems. And my free version does indeed block pop-ups.

I like this program better: The Proxomitron
It seems more stable that ad/subtract and does a lot more. And it's FREE with no advertising. (see below)
It is heavy on the system resources though. I wouldn't run this with less than 64 megs of ram.
