I have used BidPay, as a buyer, but this time payment was sent to me as a seller. I received the first payment this Monday. Today, Thursday, I get another MO. It's for the same amount with the same info. Even the MO #'s are the same. Only diff are the dates.I emailed the buyer and BidPay but no answer as of yet.

This ever happen to anyone else. What should I do? Return second MO to bidpay, mail it to buyer, or...?

Hmmmmm That IS curious..I have no answer for you, but feel the need to turn e-mail ON for the final answer from BidPay, and/or the buyer...

Look's like Bidpay is really on top of this one.

Not...

Sounds like a serious screwup. I'd love for BidPay to show up and explain that. Don't expect it though. Gomarek gave the policy to reddeer about support on this message board recently. Not on AuctionWatch

They paid me twice also and I'd just like to say that I am for this change in policy.

hmmm .. so BidPay won't use AW to respond to questions and problems. we all know that they don't use the telephone, or email either. what do they do, rely on mental telepathy? .... that would though would imply a sign of intelligent life - doubtful

Thanks everyone.
I see that there were others that had this same "problem". BidPay responded. Here is a 'cut-and-paste' of the email.

There was a printing error which caused one batch of payments to go out twice (sorry about that). You will notice that they are 'exactly' the same. It is not a duplicate payment, it's the same payment twice and we did send an email out to all sellers who were affected on Friday letting them know about this error.

We want to thank you for pointing it out to us. You can cash ONE of these money orders without any problems and this will automatically cancel the second one - so please DESTROY THE SECOND MONEY ORDER.

IT DOES NOT MATTER WHICH OF THE TWO YOU DEPOSIT.

DO NOT deposit both as one will be returned as a non-paying item and this will result in unnecessary bank charges to you.

BUYERS "WERE NOT" CHARGED TWICE FOR THESE ORDERS, this was a printing error.

Best Regards
Marek B.

It will be funny over the next few weeks to hear the people whine who deposited both checks thinking they're getting free money - when instead they'll be forking over bank fees for their greediness.

Serves them right, I say!

Hi All;

Within a few hours of this mistake taking place and LONG BEFORE ANY SELLER ACTUALLY GOT ONE OF THESE DUPLICATE PAYMENTS...we sent the email below. Almost all of the sellers understood the situation and thanked us for the prompt action.

Because we issue tens of thousands of payments per day we use a bank check company to print the money orders and they screwed up BIG TIME... with one batch... but our audit trail caught it within 12 hours and that's why we sent the email below.

Mareck'
I never received an email stating this problem of duplicate payments being sent out to sellers until after I emailed you about receiving a duplicate. If I had not noticed it was a duplicate I could have accidentially deposited it and incurred the bank fee's. I had never used bidpay, as a seller, before. This makes me wary as to weither I would accept any future bidpay payments.
