Hi,
I was suspended for copyright infringement, I won't go into the details but it was unjust I tried explaining it wasn't in any mean infringement and if it was they should've notified, all the did was cancel one of my auctions then the next thing I know I'm suspended. Then to add to this I guess they tried to call me or something but the phone number that I gave them was to my old phone number which was disconnected and I haven't had a chance to update it yet. All I recieved was this e-mail stating I was suspended for a minium of 14 days well its been 14 days, does anyone know how to find out how long your being suspended for, or an estimate of how long, Ebay was how I made my money now its been two weeks and I'm falt broke, I was hoping to be able to start selling today but I guess its not going to happen, any adive will be greatly helpful and this is also my 1st suspension and I've never been in any trouble with eBay, thanks!

moonlightdesigns: I think what likely happened was that someone from eBay probably tried to call you to warn you about your possibly infringing item... when they got a number that wasn't accurate... it was reason for suspension.

The contact information need to remain updated for this very reason.

I think you should eMail [email protected] and tell them exactly what you've told us here... give them your updated home telephone number and explain that you will quickly update the information just as soon as they reinstate you..... (and add a "Pretty Please" in there - wouldn't hurt ya any!) *smile*

GOOD LUCK to you.

- Dottie

I received an eBay suspension, just before Christmas for the "two click", web link rule. Ebay called me BEFORE the suspension, but unfortunately, I was out, and they got my assistant, and I didn't get to speak with them. They suspended me for 14 days, but in 11 days, my account was activated again, without my doing anything to activate it.

I did write an apology, but that was the extent of my contact. The account was reinstated without my doing anything.

Thank the Lord you are on eBay when you get suspended - since Yahoo changed in January of 2001, they have done endless account closures, with no explanation except TOS violations. There is no warning, no suspension, just all of the sudden you can't get into your auction account, your Yahoo mail, or your PayDirect. The AW Yahoo board is full of this Nazi approach stories. Needless to say, between their mistake in listing fees, this new approach of "no tolerance," and no explanation has contributed to the ruination of Yahoo. There are endless horror stories on the Yahoo board concerning this. Via the Yahoo approach, they cancel your auction account, your Yahoo mail account, you lost your ID, your feedback, and they freeze your PayDirect account (like BillPoint).

So thank the Lord that eBay has the sense to realize the Yahoo approach would merely disenfranchise good sellers, and cost eBay lots of long term money.

I've already done that, the 1st day I recieved the e-mail but I didn't mention anything about me having to update my phone # so I'm going to try to send them another e-mail and letting them know it was a honest mistake, I've been so busy moving into my new home I completely forgot about updating my info

I used to sell on Yahoo and have a 200+ feedback and I was one of the many that had everything terminated on Yahoo I still don't know why but I believe that was because I was advertising another auction site, since then I've been to eBay and this is my first problem with it.

Can you share with us more info about the "two-click" link rule violation. What did you do to cause the suspension?

Thanks in advance.

If you have info to share on the 2 click rule, could you please add it to the link I posted above? Blanche has done an outstanding job putting the info about the 2 click rule on that thread. Thanks!

BTW - I was recently told by an eBay CS rep that eBay will email you & give you 24 hrs to update your Contact Info before they suspend users for false contact info.

Thanks reddeer....right after I posted that question I saw the other thread....Blanche did indeed do an excellent job with that. I am not sure yet if I fall in the guidelines but I have a link to my webpage, it usually has the items plus others so it could get dicey....always something..... is it not??
