I have posted my first 3 auctions using a new web-hosting site and everything went real smooth with no problems. They looked great when I previewed them and looked great once they were launched. HOWEVER, when I checked them on a friend's computer (I have cable, they have 56K) the images broke up when you scrolled down the page. The Ebay Billpoint icon also broke up, which I thought was odd. I was hoping some of you could check them out and let me know if you have any problems viewing the images, download times, etc. I would really appreciate getting some feedback. The auction numbers are 1417834456, 1417834476 & 1417834502 (they're on Ebay). Thanks in advance.

Images breaking up as you scroll sounds more like a video driver issue on that computer. I checked the first auction number, and it loaded kind of slow, but that could have been eBay. The pictures looked fine to me.

Billd26, All three look good to me but I am using a cable modem. The download times were quick and the pictures did not break up when scrolled.

The third auction looks wierd. There is a pic that looks outta place. Is it suppose to be above your ebay seller name like that? I saw you did it with the 2nd auction too. I guess you want the pic there?

I have cable and it loaded fine.

Hi

I checked and it loaded fine and the picture looked fine also. I see no problems at all.

I checked them out (don't have cable) and they loaded just fine. I suspect the problem is with your friend's computer.

Just checked your first one...

Pix served at about 3K on my 56Kmodem connected to an ISDN line.

No viewing problems....IE5 on a iMac DV SE 400

Image sizes are pretty large for the picture content...the biggest was 89K IIRC....maybe compressing those JPG's a bit for the dial-up folks might be in order?

Wow! You guys are great - that was so quick. I appreciate everyone looking - I was kind of worried. What is the best way to compress those pics?
Thanks

A picture being on the large size would cause slow loading, but the images breaking up on the monitor indicate something amiss with the video card or the driver for the video. Either look into updating the driver, or check the auctions on that system after a reboot. The fact that they break up when you scroll is another clue.

To size my pictures down, I usually just use Adobe Photo Deluxe to trim them down to 2" x 3" and then load them. I know there must be an easier way to size images down though so they will load faster. I would appreciate any suggestions. (remember, I'm not a computer whiz by any means)

They look fine to me too. A little slow loading probably due to size of pics (56k/compuserve for ISP) I usually resize mine with Paintbrush; open file from there, click on image, stretch & something (can't remember exact words) then you put in % of size length and width and save back to original file. Once you do the first one the rest click through pretty fast. But try and get them about right the first time, if you do 60% and then decide you want them smaller you lose some clarity. But it's still kind of time consuming to me.

If you don't like the size just hit 'ctrl z' and it will un-do whatever you just did. I do it all the time if I don't like the sizing.
