This is probably not the correct forum for this question but since so many frequent this list here goes anyway....

Do any of you have a homepage at Tripod? If so can you access it right now?

I have been trying to build one for the last couple of days. I created an account but when I try to log in I get an error message. Now sometimes I can log in, and then when I go to build the homepage itself I get the error message. Something about a "database error".

Are any of you having the same problems?

Thanks!

I thought maybe it was a browser type issue. So I tried with both Netscape and IE and get the same message.

I was really looking forward to building that homepage but it looks like that may not happen

Hi, I have had a tripod page for about 3 years now...and once in awhile this happens. Sometimes its only certain letters of the alphabet...other times its all of them. Also if a page is OLD and has not had activity they will delete it (which is not your case)..I would email Tripod anyway and see if a lot of them are down or if it IS yours......I would not panic for a few days yet...I have had it happen and all of a sudden it shows up..but if it continues then email tripod again...I am NOT saying thats what happened but I have known it too. I did just try to log onto mine and it worked fine......
http://members.tripod.com/~quillworker/index.html. Oh, and a tip....save a copy of the html for each page onto a disk...in case you have to re enter it...I learned that the hard way.

BTW....unless you are totally using their page builder you can still build it offline and save the html to disk to upload later?

My advice...stay away from Tripod. Go with Geocities or get your own domain but let Tripod go by the way.

They are stepping on a lot of toes and maybe they won't be long in this world.

I have a homepage at Geocities and have been very happy there. No problems.

I just thought about the fact that Yahoo bought out, joined with....whatever.... Geocities a while back and if Yahoo keeps going into the decline that it has, I am just thinking that one morning I will get up and Yahoo will be gone, and where will that leave Geocities?

I have already copied all my files, html and all, to a folder on my hard drive so I can then upload it to another homepage site if worse comes to worse.

I may be being parinoid, but I worked really hard for 3 and 1/2 years on that homepage. I learned html just so I could build it.

Oh well, that url was enlightening. Are you the owner of those homepages by any chance?

My pictures can't be accessed from tripod on ebay (unless you right click and copy image location). It just started this week. I was told they don't like just image hosting. They want you to actually visit the site (banners, $$, etc).
