I myself have had trouble with Ebay... mostly with search.. for 4 to 5 days.

It has been a topic at the HSE newsgoups, and this was a recent post:

Ebay did something with their routers on Friday (so sympatico tells me).. I
am able to log in to ebay.com if I use Sympatico dialup, but not if I use
HSE.
So I thought that there was a problem with the HSE, well Simpatico told me
that eBay had to fix it;'s router problem (and I didn't have to stay on hold
for more than 1 minute).
I tried logging into www.ca.ebay.com and that worked ok, but was slow. (I
logged in using HSE)
Give it a shot

So... we still have problems.

If you really need to get ahold of Ebay go to:

www.safeweb.com

and enter www.ebay.com and away ya go.

It is slower.. but at least you can get there.

Now as to when the problem will be fixed.. who knows.

Safeweb and ebay.ca help get around the problem.

Is it my imagination or are there still problems with auction pictures loading? I listed a bunch of auctions last night through ebay.ca and most of the .jpg's are broken. They were fine when I did the listings, and they are fine on the pair.com hosting service.

Interesting: eBay says the problem is a
router down in Toronto (istar)and they cannot do anything at their end. The Internet Weather Report shows this router has been operating at zero for days, so it sounds reasonable. Does anyone know how long it takes to de-FUBAR a router? This seems to be an unreasonable length of time. People in Florida are also experiencing problems with eBay and ebay has said this is a result of redirected traffic. I just wish someone would fix it. Hysterical sellers such as myself may find the Safeweb work around. Bidders may just decide to go to the mall instead.

If anyone knows how to contact (istar) I would love to know. I'm going crazy with this problem on top of which Sympatico has been overcharging me for the past 4 months. I called Videotron Cable, would have to buy a modem for $160.00.

"The Internet Weather Report"

Sounds interesting, can you post the link? Thanks!

I was having a blonde moment. It is the internet TRAFFIC report not weather. Still intersting though:

To everyone who is having trouble connecting to eBAy with Sypatico HSE I urge you to phone them constantly. Perhaps a flood of calls will get them moving. For now both Sympatico and eBay seem to be playing: It's your fault, no it's your fault, at our expense. In the mean time I will try to figure out how to get in touch with istar.
