@Home/cable service email servers are down more than they are working. We have a cable modem but gave up on their mail servers long ago.

I have @home mail thru my cable. And it definitely is terrible! Last week I received messages sent to me in November. I no longer use it for any auction business, only for personal. I had bidder win an auction that had @home mail and he wasn't receiving any of my emails to his @home address. I finally called him and straightened everything out. A few weeks later he emailed me and said he finally received the emails all at once. Hope this helps!

Yes it is. I wouldn't give you a nickel for it here in Iowa. I have to use a Yahoo address to get any reliability. Great thing though I pretty much get a $10.00 credit each month on my bill for yelling at them all the time.
I love the speed, you can not beat it even with a DSL line. Very seldom have problems with connectivity.
The e-mail is getting better but still is crap.

At one point the email servers for our area's @Home network went down (power outage, and they didn't have them on UPS). A friend of mine called to complain about email problems to tech support and was told, by support that they do not really support email and if you want something reliable then to use something like Yahoo.
I used to use my @home address for ebay purchases...up until I couldn't get email from a seller and he couldn't receive the email I was sending to him.

Edited to add: Sometimes people don't set up their email correctly and insert an incorrect reply-to address. Do compare the sender's address with the reply-to line to make sure that they're the same.

I received a negative feedback from a @Home user because he says I wasn't returning his email. I tried using another ISP and all of the sudden he received my email.
My at @Home connection (in my home) has been down for over a month! They are upgrading their system all over the country is what they are telling me. They are nice enough to give me two months credit.

I've been using @home in Canada for close to 3 yrs. Other than a couple bad patches, the email server here has been very reliable.

Mine is working, but I still use yahoo.
It's portable and though it can be buggy with AOL users, I like it a lot.
My @home email is a hassle.
Plus you can set up yahoo to check your @home.
By sending test emails, you'll know if it's working or not.
I love my cable modem, but I hate the mail system.
