Am I just getting my share or have others noticed an increase of weird questions from bidders due to the new ebay email deal??? Are buyers just testing to see if their questions will be answered or what?? I had a buyer email me today that she was trying to place a bid and when she did the page just kept returning to the description instead of placing a bid. What's up with that? I think placing a bid on ebay is the simpliest thing in the world, unfortunately too simple for too many people in most cases! I should have asked her for her ebay name and password and placed a bid for her!
Unfortunately, I don't want to deal with the person when she has to figure out how to send out her payment.

Stupid questions have been around forever. Yahoo had this feature called 'post a question to the seller'. I listed a New Viewsonic 17 inch monitor with 3 year warranty. Some moron posts "Is it new or refurbished?" I answer "like the title says, it's new." He posts, "Is it 15 inch or 17 inch?" I post back, "like the title says, it's 17 inch." He posts again, "How long is the warranty." I answer "like the title says, 3 years." He posts again, "Who is the manufacturer?" I post back, "Please go away. I have already put you on my blacklist, do don't bother bidding."

Yes, and since they don't have to type in item numbers or descriptions, that would probably explain the influx. I'm just hoping it's a temporary trend though.

I have noticed an increase in questions also. I did have maybe 2 or 3 questions a week. Now I receive at least that many each day. As for the looney ones, idiots are all around us, & in ever-increasing numbers!
At an auction recently I bought a very nice item for 50.00. Practically everything else at the auction sold in box lots for 10.00 or less, with more trash in them than treasures. A man walked up to me & shouted "Hey! Is that bowl you paid all of that money for collectible or something?"
I just nodded my head & kept walking to keep from laughing. I wanted to say, "No, it is only worth $2.00, I just thought the auctioneer could use some extra spending money." Duh!

I've gotten more questions too. The thing that makes me wanna bang my head on the keyboard is, the questions I'm getting are all answered in the description. Like I'm gonna put a skirt up for auction without putting the size in the description??????

LMAO!
My latest stupid question(item ~ major name brand mens XL Sweatshirt):
I'm 6'2". Will this fit me?
gee, I dunno. Did you read the measurements listed? How big are your shoulders? do you slouch or have proper posture? how long are your arms? do your knuckles scrape on the ground when you walk? what is your chest measurement? do you have a lot of chest hair that you would consider shaving off to make it fit? long torso or short torso? any artificial limbs? are you a hunchback? what size do you usually wear in brand XX? are you a string bean or an elephant? does your mother wear combat boots in the shower? etc, etc, etc.

Kind of like this one place I get coffee at where I tell them I want a large, black coffee and they ask me whether or not I want cream in it.
Some days it just pays to say nothing and just keep on trucking...

I am new to all of this. I don't know if the kind of questions I ask are looney or not. Questions like "will you mail to Canada" and "how much to mail the item".
What irritates me is that many of the sellers don't bother to respond with a yea or a nay. Even a looney response would be better than nothing at all, which shows a total lack of email etiquette

Some sellers may still in the situation of not knowing they are getting questions because of the spam filters on their incoming mail.
I have mine set up to pull ones labelled "question for seller" - however if the person with the ? changes the title - it'll end up in my bulk mail folder. I now check my bulk mail folder regularly and scan it every time before deleting them just in case a question does slip through.
I've been getting spam through this new service too - similar to the "I saw your XXX - did you ever think about selling direct from your website - I can help!"
