I would like some advice....I sold a pair of Wrangler jeans and the buyer left me neutral feedback...see below...that I didn't describe the jeans as being cut & hemmed. I did put the inseam, but didn't think to even look at the hem....should I have done that...I even had a return policy listed and the buyer never asked for a refund.
Should I respond to this feedback and if so how? I wanted some advice before I respond, I am thinking of saying, I listed inseam and had a return policy in my ad...never received any response from buyer that she was dissapointed.
Here is the feedback......
Neutral: Item shipped quick, not described as being cut & hemmed. Dissapointing buy
Here is the original ad.........
Womens Wrangler Jeans 36 x 28-Like NEW!!
I can't be sure but these look brand new!!
Waist 36"
Inseam 28"
High bidder pays $3.95 priority mail shipping charges. Int'l higher. Checks o.k., but will hold checks until cleared unless you have 10 or more positive feedback.
I will accept returns if I receive the item back within 14 days - you get total minus shipping and ebay fees.

You got off lucky. Many sellers would have negged you. A reasonable bidder would have given you the opportunity to make him/her happy. But there are a lot of unreasonable bidders out there. You found one of them.

You should have noticed the hem, I can see how that would be dissapointing to the bidder. When you said they look like brand new, one would assume that they wouldn't have been cut and hemmed. But, they should have emailed you first and let you make things right for them. I would respond to the neutral with something like "Would have offered refund if she had emailed me with problem". But, and others may disagree, I would still write to her and apologize, offering refund with shipping- it was your mistake. She can then add to her feedback and say that you made things right. Good luck!

One more thing. I have not had a negative or neutral feedback in almost 700 feedbacks, but I have made plenty of mistakes in my listings and have even sent the wrong items to people! One thing I do that may help is that I include a little note with all my items that if they find anything wrong with their items to please email me right away & I will make things right. So far, all of my bidders have done that. I'm not sure if it is because of the note, or dumb luck, but I thought I might mention it as an idea for you to use.

You should have noticed that they were cut and hemmed and it should have been noted. However, it's easy to overlook things and sellers are not perfect. This bidder should definitely have e-mailed you and asked for a refund or price reduction.
As far as responding I think just saying bidder never let me know there was a problem would be sufficient. Just consider it a lesson learned.

Bidder was not unreasonable. Was generous in accepting the misdescribed item and leaving a neutral rather than taking advantage of your less than generous offer to refund less shipping (both ways) and fees and giving a negative.

This is my opinion, but leaving neutral or negative feedback should be the LAST resort after trying to work things out with the seller. While the seller may have made a mistake, the buyer should at least email the seller and express disapointment. If any bidder was to email me that I made this mistake, I would give them a full refund in a heartbeat. There is no excuse for not trying to work things out. It even warns you before you leave a negative or neutral to try and work things out first.
I WOULD respond to the neutral in your feedback stating something like, "Would have given full refund is bidder had contacted me about this." Or "Would give full refund, bidder need only email me about this."
If you didn't left feedback yet, I would leave neutral stating, "Bidder left neutral feedback without making any attempt to inform seller of possible problem."
If you at least respond as I said above, it will let other bidders know that this bidder made no attempt to resolve problem. It also would tell them that if there is a problem, you are willing to work it out.
You did state the refund in auction, but it does sound like if you made the error you will only refund the bid amount and not shipping.
