I can't even begin to explain the contempt I have for those who, like sheep, routinely schedule their auctions to end between 8 & 10 PM on Sundays.
WHY would you schedule your auctions to end at a time when EVERYBODY else seems to do the same thing?
It seems that...
A) There's MUCH more competition in the closing seconds of auctions--especially between similar items.
and...
B) Ebay is MUCH more likely to have problems and short outages during this time, which kills last minute bidding.
There are soooo many times I see an auction end during this time and think to myself "this seller thinks they are being so smart, yet they are being so stupid".
I avoid ending my auctions on Sunday like it's the plague.
I'm glad a bunch of sellers got burned tonight. They deserve it.

Yes, it's 8-10pm everywhere. A little egocentric aren't we? I'll have you know I'm on the Left coast and I'm a 6:30-7:30pm idiot!

"WHY would you schedule your auctions to end at a time when EVERYBODY else seems to do the same thing?" - What's wrong with this logic?

If you did not look out the window in the morning would the Sun bother to come up?

We have an automated system that analyzes sucess rate for auction closing at various times. For at least the past 2 years, Sunday evenings has been the BEST time to close an auction by far.
Apparantly many others agree.

All Ebay times are pacific, so obviously that's what I'm refering to.

Lotsamags: eBay went down a little before 5pm Pacific. Why aren't you expressing your disgust for the "idiots" who scheduled their auctions to end then? It's only 6:30pm Pacific now (eBay is down again after being up a few minutes)...how 'bout *those* "idiots"?
Hey--why not avoid posting/ending at all on Sundays? Yeah, right.
Ya know, we all have auctions ending every night of the week. Thousands and thousands of us. Have you any names you'd like to call people who end on other nights?
Let's see:
Monday: morons
Tuesdays: imbeciles
Wednesdays: nincompoops
Thursdays: cretins
Fridays: fools
Saturdays: simpletons
That about cover it for you?

countrydonkey & bunnicula:
What you 2 bumpkins have yet to realize is that since there are more listings ending on Sunday night than any other day of the week, Ebay is not only more competitive at that time, but is also more prone to systemic outages.
Also, an increasing number of users are depending on sniping tools, which are often foiled on Sunday nights due to system congestion.
Pretty simple stuff.

What the lead bumpkin (lotzamags) has yet to realize is: YOUR WRONG.
Sunday nights work best, regardless of the outages. The unbiased stats proove it.

lotzamags,
So why the anger at everyone? Did you miss out on a snipe and want to blame someone?
Sometimes I am a Thursday cretin also. Luv it!
