just sent me an e-mail. It was all in Japanese. I've never done anything with Ebay Japan, and wonder how I ended up on THAT mailing list. I don't speak a word of Japanese, either, so it just got deleted.

Anyone else get this e-mail?

I got spammed by eBay Japan! Errrrrrr!

Is it authentic though? I looked at the headers and it say it was received from: ebay japan <[email protected]>
Shouldn't it come from an ebay.com email address?

I got it also - although I have my preferences set NOT to recieve such items.
If you scroll down there is english also.

Question - I have never seen any japanese locations for eBay auctions. I would think the translation problem would be huge. I can't read japanese so what good would this do me?

I got it, too.
With all due respect, is it still considered spam or shall we refer to it as SUSHI?
just curious

Just a thought here. Are you all international sellers? I am and mark Canada only and my items are listed on ebay.ca also. I even had seller e-mail me a link and seen my listing that way, it was neat.

I did not get the e-mail as of yet.

Just food for thought.

I got it too, however, it did say if you didn't want to receive any more emails from them to click on reply and type "remove" in the subject line to be taken off their list. They said you would receive one more email confirming your removal....which I did. So hopefully thats the end of those

I got it too and it's a advertisement for ebay japan. What gives is ebay trying to get us to surf there so they can fix the lousy road runner problem along with others.

I got this spam, and at first I suspected it was some sort of fraud - an attempt to steal passwords - based on one of the links in the message.

But I found nothing to confirm this. The URL seems legitimate, altho I'd feel better about it if I could read Japanese.

The domain it was mailed from is registered to someone in New Jersy (a service, perhaps ?).

I do list items for sale in Japan, but it's still spam and I still don't want it.

WOW! Spam from Japan --- leave it to ebay to take the concept of spam to new and exotic places...

I got it also....and...at first I thought it was a virus...cause I tried to delete it without opening it....it wouldn't let me...so I deleted it as soon as it was opened....I have no idea what it is or was....but...MY PUTER FROZE.... and I had to reboot.....maybe coincidence maybe not....I wish I would have sent it and reported it instead to safe harbor....

I had gotten that yesterday .... but mine said something to the effect; 'scroll down to see email in English' ....... and the whole "pitch" was there in English for me to read ... [i will copy that 'english translation' to the end of this post] ... so, I figured if I would go to the TWO links, as supplied in the email, that I would be able to see the Japan listings, translated to English; but NO, it was all 'Japan' .. [no, i don't read japanese] ... here is what my email read, unadaltered i hope, from my copy/paste command at AOL:

I got that email. The funny thing is, I visited Babelfish the day before to get a translation for a Japanese phrase. Thought it was some kind of conspiracy <g>. Guess I'll ask them to remove me from their list. I was going to forward it to Safeharbor to report it as spam, but got caught in some kind of link loop and gave up. (Snicker...reporting eBay spam to Safeharbor. Duh!)
