Sellers who won't answer e-mail questions about their auction item.

What's yours?

Zazzie:

Un-uh dear, sent 2 e-mails to this seller, first with 2 1/2 days to go in auction, second with 24 hours, just sent 3rd with hour an a half. Their description is just slightly ambiguous, a 3 volume video set, that it is not clear whether it is the original set, or something re-recorded, so they have had plenty of time to respond, but obviously aren't going to -- which leaves me with nothing to do but not bid.

I'm not THAT demanding that I would expect anyone to answer within an hour, but 60 hours, yes, I have that expectation!!

I have 5 emails in my box from one potential bidder---the second one is 1 hour after the first one.

I've decided not to answer any of them...no bid..Oh well

Hi again Z:

Sorry, my misinterpretation.

You're right on that score, though, I also get e-mails from bidders, followed by another one within a few hours asking why I haven't responded to the first one yet? It's funny when you've been out on the road since before the 1st e-mail & get home after the 2nd one, or get home dog tired & no way are you going to answer e-mails at midnight or something like that. There is an assumption from some people that we are wedded to our keyboards 100% of the time.

People (including me on days like this) should relax a bit more about all this eBay stuff, much of it is not worth sweating bullets over.

Winners asking questions that are clearly answered in my EOA letter. Does anyone read anymore? Variation: Bidders asking questions that are clearly answered in the auction description.

These questions find me loudly calling the senders lots of names, pretending to send a smart alecky email back like, "hey Moron, Go find someone literate to read the ad to you, then write me back if you still have a question." And then of course I actually send a pleasant patient email answering all of their questions.... *sigh*

1. Sellers who have such a lousy description that you have to e-mail them to ask the most basic things about the item.

2. Sellers who don't put a U.S. shipping amount in the auction so you have to e-mail them.

Without eBay, I might have a real life...

(Edited [again] to try for the right smiley)

The first word in most of my auction titles is Natural. The First word in my description is Natural. Then some non reading bidder sends an email asking if my item is natural or lab. I do not know how I can make it any clearer that my item is natural.

Inaccurate measurements - I buy a fair amount of clothes on eBay. I hate sellers that don't give measurements. But just as bad are sellers that give inaccurate measurements. Agghhhhh!!!

(Yes, I just got a dress today where the bust measurement is six inches bigger than the description said. I just wrote the seller that I wish to return - wish me luck!!!)

Sellers who send out a form EOA note six or eight hours after the auction ends asking for information I provided 10 minutes after the auction ended.

Sellers, if you are going to automate your EOA message and don't send it right after the auction ends, then please check if the bidder already sent you the information you need.

Bidders who do not read.

In my auction title is CED. In the description it is listed several more times. I include a pix which is obvious it is not a VHS movie.

Then they win and do not pay because it is a CED and they wanted a VHS.

The funniest one said - I bid on a VHS tape and I want a VHS tape. I cannot use a CED.

Duh .... Yes, sir, I went in and changed that VHS to a CED just to mess you up.

AHHHHHH!

2) Sellers who ask me again for all the information I've ALREADY PROVIDED

Of course, I'm sure everybody knows that email isn't always delivered promptly. I received one tonight that was sent on Saturday, so if somebody sends you a message that seems to indicate that he hasn't read the mail you sent him, you might want to cut him a little slack. Maybe he hasn't received your email, after all.

Buyers that e-mail me 2 seconds after the auction is closed asking about the EOA stuff instead of waiting for me to send it.

Buyers that ask you to send their merchandise Parcel Post instead of Priority mail to save them 0.29¢ in postage when the auction clearly states priority mail shipment only.

Unreasonable morons who don't include their name in any email, don't answer specific questions and neg you when they change their TOS after the auction.
Oh and then threaten you with bodily harm.
Sigh.
May he sleep with the fishes.

My peeve for today:

Descriptions such as: There's a tight hairline about 4" at the base. There's 3 small chips at the _______, and another 7 chips (really tiny) at the _________. These are hardly noticeable, and except for those mentioned, this piece is in excellent condition!

Oh yeah, and a category on eBay that is very popular that should really be split into Vintage and Contemporary.

WINNING Bidders who assume that it's okay to pay for the item in two installments 1 in ten days and the last in 30 days! Sheesh! Of course, I accepted, didn't feel like relisting, but I did tell him that I felt he should have discussed his payment woes with me prior to bidding. I don't have a problem with multiple payments, but Bidders PLEASE PLEASE ask before you bid!!!

Ebays inability to be honest and upfront with it's members about problems on the site. Leaving us all to scramble within our own domain to figure out what is wrong.

Me got trippple digit feedback.
Bidder only feedback.

Me told one thing in email,
Me told another thing in second email.
Me screwed.
Me Neg.

Bidders who [apparently] don't know how to send e-mail. They never respond to my EOA notice, and just when I'm about to file a NPB their check arrives. And then, of course, they never e-mail to let me know if the item arrived safely [even though I specifically asked them to please do so].

What good is trying to provide personalized service if the bidders are going to treat me as if I were some sort of mail-order retail store????
