I recently bought a vhs off a power seller with (1000+) feedback rating. He had a horror video tape that I needed for collection. Seller said in the auction "comes with original box with plastic case", BUT what I got was a original box that was cut to fit in a plastic case!!!! The film should've comes in a big cardboard box with plastic storage case inside. What I got was a badly cut up original boxed loose in the plastic case. This is NOT what is was advertised.

I emailed the seller, who sells over 50 pages in ebay. 3 days later I get a email "sorry, don't have another one". No answer to if I can mail it back for a refund!!!! This guy has 52 negatives in 6 month. that's almost 9 complaints a month.

I am fed up dealing with power sellers with 1000+ rating. They never rate you, they want you to rate them! I get canned email from them atleast twice asking for rating (isnt that spamm?), or notes on the mail with the package asking for rating, and they never rate me. They never respond to your email most of time. This is the 4th time I ran into bad service from a 1000+ seller this month. what is going on with ebay? I sell on ebays too but I don't treat my customers this way.

what do you all think I should do? Slap him 10 bad rating (I bought ten off this guy). I can give him 10 bad, but he seems to get a page worth of good a day whcih pushes down his negative ratings (he seems to be averaging a 5 negative ratings a week recently), so it'll not do anything to his feedback. He also didn't rate me, so he can ruin mine. any advice will do.

PS: This seller is so cheap he reused old meter mail stamps also, and charged me prioirty mail shipping!!! Eech!

I'd learn from the lesson, and move on. Neg him or not- if it will make you feel better. It obviously means little to this seller.

The lesson to be learned is not to buy from sellers who have a high percentage of negatives.

If you're displeased with the transaction, or ten transactions, then leave feedback which reflects your assessment.

It seems to me you are stereotyping the seller because he is a powerseller. Being a powerseller in no way means you are a good or bad seller and that you run a tight ship. It does indicate you sell a substantial amount of merchandise.

I agree with magazine_guy 100%. By checking the feedback would have been a good indication that you may not get the type service you deserve.

I'm a power seller with a feedback of 1545 of which 1200 count. I have 2 negatives and 4 neutrals. 3 are from users no longer registered. I've left 2279 feedbacks for previous customers in the last 2 1/2 years. Would you say that I never rate my customers or that I provide bad service??? I don't think so.

People can say what they want to about powersellers, just don't put us all in the same boat because no two are the same.

Powerseller is based more on $ volume than number of auctions. I think if you sell one $2000 item every month, you become a powerseller.

Anyway, I recommend using Vrane feeedback tools to isolate negatives on a seller before bidding. You can easily see on a couple of pages when the negatives occurred and why. It takes a little more time, but it saves on headaches. Also, it is free.

We COULD be power sellers, had the offer from eBay several times, but havn't bothered, and don't want the big logo cluttering up our auctions.

Please do not stereotype all people with over 1,000 feedback as being hard to deal with. I have over 1,200 and treat all my customers equally. They all get personalized service, all emails are answered. I am not a power seller, as my $ are not high enough, but I am not sure I would even care to, it seems they get a bad rap, and I have dealt with some of both, good and bad.

With all due respect, ultraman, the problem seems to have nothing to do with whether or not the seller is a powerseller, but the obvious fact that he/she has 52 negs just in the last 6 months! That factor alone would make me run, not walk, away from his auctions. HUGE RED FLAG THERE! As others here have stated, being a powerseller has no bearing!

Not all sellers with over 1000 feedbacks are powersellers.

I have well over 1000 feedbacks and am not a powerseller.

Like the others said, check out the negatives on a seller before bidding, be it they have 1000 feedback, a powerseller, or someone with 50 feedback, doesn't matter which they are. There are great powersellers, and bad powersellers, just as there are great 'NON powersellers' and bad 'NON powersellers'.

ultraman187,

I always check seller's feedback before I bid.
