Hello, maybe a strange request, but I was working on my friends' computer with a 18" or 19" monitor. I have a 13.5" screen. I edit my pics on kodak software; use a Sony mavica 73.
My pics look good on MY screen. On her Larger screen my pics were very out of focus with a blurry/distorted quality. Her computer is new, and all her other graphics look great. I'm wondering if all my auction pics look that bad on a larger monitor. If you're using a larger screen would you please check my pics on ebay Item #1126577983 and let me know what you see. Thanks for any help..

I'm relieved! This has been on my mind for 2 days now. Was considering deleting them and putting new ones up.
as to making them bigger...I try to keep the 'picture loading time' down. I will experiment with different sizes though.
Appreciate your help, thanks

Hi silver, I checked out your pics and they looked just a tab blurry on my 17" monitor. I could tell they were in focus though, just the resolution was slightly off.
I noticed when I upgraded from a 15" monitor to a 17", I didn't think the clarity was as good. Although, I am used to it now. Perhaps it has to do with the pixel size on the larger moniters.

Look fine on my 19" monitor.
The resolution you have your monitor set to makes a difference.
1024 x 768 looks much better then when I changed it to 800 x 600

Hi,
Top full shot is a little blurry on both 1024x768 and 800x600 but the rest of the shots look OK...
Part of the problem may be the shadow behind the dress....it's creating a black outline which can show up as a blur...
Best way to get small file sizes, even with larger pictures, is to shoot high resolution digital shots...
Even with my old Olympus D-500L, if I shoot at the highest quality setting and save the pix as either TIFF or HQ JPG's, I can compress them down to very clear pictures in the 640x480 range with a file size of 30-50K
I do mine in Photoshop and Graphic Converter but there are lots of free or inexpensive image editors out there which do basically the same thing...
Also, remember that a monitor can utilize different viewing sizes....mine varies from 1024x768 to 640x480....and images do look different at different resolutions (notwithstanding size)...
Good luck!
edited to add: it's possible that your friends monitor hasn't had the convergence tweeked...were your images the only ones that looked blurry...?

I have a 19" and they look just a bit blurry or fuzzy on the edges at 800 X 600. I notice that some of mine do that also so I usually blame AW as they seem okay until I upload them.
This happens to a few of them. I know I am shaky sometimes and I should use a tripod. I have one but my siamese lynxpoint doesn't like the legs on it and attacks it so I seldom use it.
So I am wondering if this is always my fault or can I blame AW also?
