I need to ship a large furniture piece. Roughly 75#. What is the best way to do this? If I can get it crated, I want to know which freight companies have been reasonably priced and done a good job.

I have seen other posters here recommend cratersandfreighters.com, but I have never had occasion to use them. You might find some more hints in the AW Partner Services forum (although posting on this board will probably get more exposure!).

Try Viking Freight lines ... they have a national network (under several names, but one management) or FEDEX (owners of Viking!)
If you can box it in a carton like used for washing machines, and immobilize it in there, so nothing touches the edges, it's cheaper than a crate.

While I have you all here.... I need some furniture shipped FROM Germany TO the US. Anybody have any ideas on that? Especially, what price range are we talking about? My step mother wants to sell her house, and I would like to keep some of the pieces. (OF furniture thet is )
