Hi folks,
Here's the story; auction closed Sunday, WBN goes out Monday morning. Wednesday I receive payment by Paypal so far so good. BUT the e-mail address on the Paypal account does not match E-Bay e-mail, he e-mails me to let me know he sent the payment (yet another e-mail address) There is a verified address on the Paypal account but he wants it to go somewhere else. The only thing the three e-mail addresses have in common is that they are WebTv based.
So I e-mailed to E-Bay e-mail requesting confirmation, no response. Sent second one so far no response. Yesterday I e-mailed to the third e-mail address he used to let me know he paid so far nothing (but it's a bit early). Am I paranoid here?

I think I would email one email addressed to all three email accounts and tell this person that you will only ship to the PayPal verified address because PayPal won't protect you if you ship to another address.
Ask them to respond from the email they use on eBay verifying that they are indeed the PayPal payer. Tell them you need to cover yourself so that you know you're dealing with the actual bidder and not someone who wants the item but wasn't the high bidder.
If you're still worried that this is a scam, etc., refund the PayPal monies less your fees, and relist or sell to the 2nd highest bidder.

I had this happen once. I emailed to the buyer with my concerns and he emailed with a full explanation. He had been purchasing it for a friend, his email name is his nickname, not his full name. I finally was comfortable enough to follow thru, got great feedback and no problems. I ended up calling and talking to him before I would ship.
