AMAZING! It only takes a seller who leaves one rude comment like that for me not to bid. Did he ever reply to any of the negatives that were left for him? I can just imagine the comments! I am continually amazed that people do not look into the negatives before they bid.

Carol ~

This seller has 107 negs, and he responded rudely to each and every one - name calling, put-downs, etc.

Then I checked his negs LEFT - and he left about 350 negs and they were ALL extremely rude like this - calling everyone names, etc.

I wouldn't bid from this guy if he was the only seller left on ebay!

So..did he leave you a neg and that is why your bringing this up?

Or is it just fun and games to go looking for someone who you can use as fodder for another "look how bad this person is...he shouldn't be allowed to do business with us GOOD sellers"?

Hmmm... Amy, you seem pretty defensive of this mysterious seller. Perhaps I have found another one of your Ebay ID's? LOL!

BTW: you said "and that is why your bringing this up?" and I think you meant to say "and that is why YOU'RE bringing this up?"

Soooo... are moderations for direct insults still given out in the threads, or are they only emailed?

Glenda: (from a poster above)

I couldn't agree more, Glenda!

Edited to add: I think it's a shame that some people can't just mind their own business instead of obviously attacking other posters. My post was a RESPONSE to another poster's direct attack/insult TO ME. If any of you notice, this certain poster PURPOSELY attacks me in any thread I start. It's been noticed by me, it's been noticed by others.

ExecutiveGirl, it would be "reasonable" to complain about somebody's negs if you had received one from that person.

However, it is simply rude to suggest that the seller who has left those nasty negs is the person you were replying to.

How about a little hint so I can go check this out myself!!

Just give me a little hint about what of his items I can search out.

Glenda: So you're saying in order for someone to talk about a topic they have to be INVOLVED in it first? Or else it's considered RUDE? If that's the case, 75% of these threads should be locked!

And read my above post. There was a reason for my comment - it was RUDENESS that was slammed my way that got returned to it's original owner.

Tsk Tsk Amy: Didn't you read what MARTY said?

(And BTW: are you aware of EVERYONE who I buy from? Or sell to? Didn't think so. Therefore, you do not know if this was any of my "business" or not)

Sorry but just because I am a seller does not mean I signed up for some kind of sellers' secret society in which it is verboten to criticize another seller. I see nothing wrong with calling a spade a spade and a rude person a rude person. I was raised to believe that 'if you can't say something nice about someone, don't say anything at all' was often an easy excuse to do nothing about bad behavior. I believe in outing flagrantly rude sellers just as I believe in outing certain other kinds of krap that I see around me. Yes, complaining about it is pretty futile. I'd be more interested in inviting this seller to the thread and finding out why he's so blatantly hostile. Too bad we can't do that on AW anymore. Still, talking about it, blowing off steam so that we don't take our frustrations with Ebay out on our bidders is ALSO a valid reason to discuss people like this seller.

Also---no one has to 'go looking' for bad sellers on Ebay. Unfortunately, they are as easy to find just as you're going about your daily business checking feedback of a seller you're about to buy from or looking at negs of someone who has bid on your items.

Tsk, Tsk Execgal...I specifically asked IF this person had left you a neg. Since you neglected to respond can we assume that in fact you have not dealt with him?

Actually EG, I just wonder why the need to go looking for someone who can be used as fodder for a feeding frenzy.

PS..spelling aside, you got my meaning

I specifically asked IF this person had left you a neg.

Show me where in the rule book it says I MUST answer "AMY"!

If you'll notice, most times I purposely DON'T answer you And looking at how this thread has been going you can see why!

If my math is correct, this person has a 2% negative rate. That is a 98% positive rate. They could be a POWER SELLER according to eBay's rules!

sulyn: Yes, that's probably true! Looking at his auctions, it appears that he IS a power seller. With a 98% positive rating I would still bid on a seller's auctions - but the reason I say I would NOT bid on this guy's auctions - EVER - is because of how rude he is to EVERYONE who leaves him negs and how rude he is even on his own replies to the negs he has received. He calls EVERYONE names!

He once said of a little, half-starved, wayside community that had no subsistence except what they could get by preying upon chance passengers who stopped over with them a day when traveling by the overland stage, that in their Church service they had altered the Lord's Prayer to read: "Give us this day our daily stranger!"

From "Roughing It" by Mark Twain.

Change "stranger" to "seller" and it sounds eerily like AW.

"(And BTW: are you aware of EVERYONE who I buy from? Or sell to? Didn't think so. Therefore, you do not know if this was any of my "business" or not)"

"I just happened to stumble across this seller's feedback"

HMM...I think we can safely conclude you did not have a transaction with this seller.

And no , you are not required to answer any question you don't want to...and in this case since you had ALREADY answered the question in your opening post, my question was more for effect.

"If you'll notice, most times I purposely DON'T answer you

HMM again...I have never profressed to be a mind reader so I would have no idea whether or not you "purposely" don't answer me or not. And since I have never even entertained the question of "if you answer me" I have never noticed that you don't answer me.

Just doesn't seem important enough to worry about.

If the recipients were aware of the Feedback Removal Policy, some of those negs might be removed.

Also, some people are unaware that feedback or responses to feedback that include the URL to another page ('see http://whatever.com for the emails we exchanged.') will be removed if the recipient requests it.

From my little try at being a detective, I would say there is one person posting here who is VERY unaware that is against the rules...as they do it frequently!!
