The title didn't fit in!!
I am wondering how much ebay and AW affect your personal life.
My husband and I run our own business, both of us do auctions, we are trying to do two online stores and renovate our house. I am also catching up on bookkeeping, Spring orders, store displays and I am helping a couple of other people with a few things.
Because of the routine and our slower season in our store I pop in and out of AW because this is the first place I learn about the new ebay stuff. I also learn about auctions, computers, viruses, collectibles and a ton of other things. I enjoy the humor as well.
My husband and I have a strong relationship because we work side by side daily and usually things go surprisingly well. But yesterday we got into a screaming battle because I had miscalculated the shipping rate on two parcels. No biggie, but we will lose a few dollars.
I was trying to defend myself by saying I didn't realize we were out of one size box and it would require the bigger one and that I didn't know the other item weighed so much. He was trying to explain that my alternate shipping method wouldn't work and we were both raging so bad we weren't even listening to each other. We can dish it out equally. Then he attacked me personally (I am blonde).
I said "Attack the message, not the messenger"
I can't believe I said that!
The "battle" just stopped.
I almost sounded like a moderator.
Now that I have made a complete fool of myself I will go back to work.

My husband is equally busy on his own computer in his own office here at home.
I'm trying not to drag him into my ebay selling and buying any more than necessary.
However, I think I am addicted to both sites. Mainly AW! I go to AW, I'm sure, several times a day, to check my auctions, to check the EO and Roundtable. I have gotten SO much help from other folks at these sites and feel a real affection for you all. Not enough to put you in my will, though. . . .

Life?? Life.... ummmm ... it is here somewhere. I saw it a minute ago, I'm sure. Shoot! Musta packed it up by accident and sent it out parcel post.
Seriously though. One of the things that has happened between my 25 yr. old son and I as a result of Ebay, other online auctions is that he has discovered he likes going to the auctions, sales, etc. with me looking for deals. After an "interesting" set of teenage years, we are getting to know each other better. Who'd have thunk it.
