I picked up a child's book today - it's obviously a very old book judging by the overall look and the artwork both on the cover and the black and white detailed illustrations inside (it's a child's book about the Bible)but there is no information as to what year it was published! Absolutely nothing! The only info given is: Chicago and W.B. Conkey Company.
The other strange thing is the title on the spine of the book reads from the bottom up instead of from the top down and the front cover states that the illustrations are in color(s) but they are all black and white.
Naturally, I'm wondering if I have a "find" here - do any of you think so? I don't want to list it on eBay until I know more.

What is the name of the book? Since you mention that there is a title on the spine I'm assuming that's the name. It's very difficult to give information without the title.

Can I take a guess on this without seeing it? Sounds very much like a book I had as a young child during World War II. Are you sure all the pictures are black and white. Because of shortages, many children's books had mostly black and white pictures with a rare colored one THAT CERTAINLY DID CATCH YOUR ATTENTION!! That would make the printing date somewhere between 1942 and 1945.
