These are department store type ad signs for Diesel Jeans and they feature African American models in party atmosphere type scenes. I put them in the Advertising/General category and they are doing nothing. They aren't vintage but they are nice and probably hard to get.

So, my question is, could it be considered Black Americana or would that be stretching it a bit?

As far as the BA category, I have no idea how they'd do? Can't hurt to try.

OK. I was wondering if Black Americana had to be old. I know the old stuff does well.

Advertising/General ain't cutting it.

I think they look pretty cool! Give it a shot. You might be very pleasantly surprised.

OK, thank you. Just looking for a better way to market them.

Not being vintage they'll probably be a tough sale. Good thing I got them for cheap.

Hi loose Cannon, recently someone had a topic here on what is considered vintage one reply was that vintage can be very recent it is an era. I tried to locate it and must have skimmed right over it. I would think from the Hair do's on the top one it was definately the "fro" style and depicts the late 60's early 70's I would put them in black Americana as a themed ad. I was also looking carefully at their faces to see maybe one of the models is now a sucessful star, but I was not able to tell. I would give it a try.

That's "retro" lattefor2.
Diesel is a late 90's line of clothes for the 20 something set/club set.

I would guess that the pictures are not more than 3-5 years old at the most.

Black America no! If there is a catagory for pop culture or something that would attract the young crowd would work, but how many young people bid on ebay.

But I have noticed that recent items are mixed into that category with positive results for the sellers. It seems that the shoppers who are looking for black Americana, whether it's new books about black history, or actual historical pieces, are looking there.

I "think" that Diesel also used music/celeberity types in their promos on a regular basis...you may try doing some research and see if you have some "famous" rapper, etc. in one of your ads....could help to put a famous name in the title...
