I found a stack of brand-new, April 2001 hardcovers today and brought them home to list. I found every title on Amazon and listed there. Generally I double-list on half.com, but several of the books aren't listed! I knew this was the case with ARCs [pre-publication] titles now...but these books are newly published and all major publishers. We're not talking small obscure books, but mainstream, front list titles.
This is worrisome. I feel that one of our best shots as sellers on a database like that is to have books there when the reviews come out and people shop for a better deal than paying full price. But if we can't even list, then noone profits.
I just wondered if the rest of you noticed this trend. thanks -

I had the same problem with CDs. I would get new CDs the day they hit the shops and sometimes it would be weeks or even months before half.com would list them. I sent a few emails to them inquiring why this was so and got a canned response each time that I should keep checking the site. I'm talking about #1 artists too (i.e., Jennifer Lopez--her latest one has been out for a few months and STILL isn't up there), not obscure little independent titles. I finally ended up putting them all on Ebay and sold them all within the week at nearly full price. Not quite sure what purpose half.com serves unless they keep their database up to date.

How frustrating!!!!!
I hadn't noticed, because I don't sell on half. (yet.) I have always somehow been under the impression that Amazon's database was far superior. However, I was pretty frustrated with Amazon's database last night as well, since I have a stack of HC books to list that weren't cataloged there. So I may be trying half soon regardless, since I am not sure what else to do with these strays.
Keziak- or anyone who knows- this may seem like an odd question- but when half sends you a check, what bank is it drawn on? Just wondering. Thanks!
