This is a first for me, I would like input on this one. I got this PayPal payment tonight. Most of you know how much I hate that but lets put that behind us for the moment.
Here is what was in the message:
NOTE: Shipping name is **NOT** XXX XXXXXXXXXXX, packages get lost that way. The correct shipping name is XXXXXX XXXXXXXXX, I may leave NEGATIVE FEEDBACK if this is not done (because everyone seems to ignore this request)
This brings many questions to mind. If I do not send to the name of the Confirmed address is it still covered by seller protection?
I would have loved to deny this payment but because I have an account it was accepted automatically. It cost .57 to accept, ok it was a $17.00 payment. Any one know of away to get around this so I do not have to pay the fee?
Not that I am going to do this but would this not be considered some type of feedback extortion by eBay? In my Payment.
So I would like to hear from you all, what would do? Take it, ship it and move on? Tell them to jump in a lake and send their payment back? Leave them negative feedback for threatening me?
I think I have made my decision but would like to hear yours. (Damon you jump in here too)

Let me see if I have this straight--the person who won your auction wants the package to go to the confirmed address on PayPal but wants you to put a different name on it? You may want to plug the address into anywho.com or whowhere.com to see if you come up with one of the two names. If it's the PayPal confirmed info, I don't see how it could be fraud. It could be perfectly innocent (i.e. a woman who just got married and moved, and the postman doesn't know her former name).
I would use the confirmed info from PayPal and put the "new" name first on the label in addition to the PayPal name and address. That way, you are fulfilling PayPal's requirement to mail to the CC owner, and you're accommodating your customer's request. Since he/she seems so ready to leave a neg, you might want to e-mail to see if this is acceptable to them.
I hope this person isn't an ExecutiveGirl reject!!!

JMHO, I think I would let this buyer know that I was sending a copy of the message to safeharbour and that I did not take kindly to threats. I would also explain that for me to be covered by paypal, I had to include the correct account name on the address. I would then address it to both names at the address, and mail it.
Not shipping to the cofirmed address does negate the Seller Protection Program, but I would recommend looking at the feedback of the user as an additional guide (the dollar amount is also relatively low).
You can ship to any address you desire, but not shipping to the address that is confirmed will negate the Seller Protection Program.

Just ask them the reason for the other name. The payment is not yours till you accept it, the bidder can reverse it if you choose not to take it. Its your call, your risk. Might not hurt to tell them you will ship any where, any name if they send you a money order or pay by bidpay. At least you will be safe if they get goofy.

Hard to tell from the tidbits, but my first reaction is that the writer didn't realize the tone of his note ~ it sounds like he's fed up with boo-boos and has found that "seller's don't listen". I don't think it's really intended as a threat, it's venting a frustration and misdirected. Sorry you got "assaulted" by it. IMO, reacting in the same hostile manner will likely do more harm than good.
Someone has gotten this bidder pretty wound up. Not you, but why not take a shot at keeping the bidder around? (he paid!!) Perhaps you could, in your very nice way, help this guy out by letting him know that he has made a poor choice of words and it comes across as confrontational ~
just a thought! keep us posted!
(good to see EG's children are getting around more!)

Here it is from Safeharbor. I'll sum it up really quickly if you do not want to take the time to read it. They do not care.
Hello,
Thank you for contacting us with your questions. I can understand where
you could be concerned. If you would like to request their contact
information and compare the two addresses and/or names, you're more than
welcome to. You can request their contact information at the link
below:
I'm sure you could even keep the company name on it and put ATTN: XXXXX
XXXXXXXXXX if that would work.
I hope this can be resolved.
Have a great day.

I sent a letter to this person telling him he should not threaten sellers with negative feedback and a copy was going to safeharbor and that I would ask PayPal if it was ok by sending them a copy of this also.
Thanks Damon for posting.
What are good sellers (I include myself in the bunch) going to do with the people. I got a neg the other day from a newbie that said I did not reply to his e-mails. Which one? He sent me, I replied, he replied I replied back. Two days later Neg feedback.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Thanks everybody.
Jim
Corrected some tyops.
