I just bought FrontPage 2000 this week and, while I'm certain I've got a lot to learn about the program, here's one thing I love about it:

You don't have to jump through hoops to get the URL code for you pictures. To add pictures to your auction, all you have to do is click on the picture (wherever it's hosted) to make it the full-size, right click and select Copy, then go into your FrontPage document (where you've written your auction description), position the cursor where you want the picture, hit Paste and there it is.

You do this in Normal view, so you don't have to wind your way through the HTML maze either.

An added benefit to this is that the URL for the picture is now embedded in the HTML of your auction description. This means that if you want to relist your item at another auction site, you don't have to jump through hoops to get the URL for the picture yet AGAIN!

Of course, the URL is only good as long as your picture stays on the image hosting site, so it works best if you use a site that doesn't delete your images after a short period of time. The site I use doesn't delete them at all, because it's not just for auctions.

And you can still get the PIC icons showing next to your auction title by using this simple method:

Find a nice piece of clip art you like that won't be too intrusive on your auction page. Upload this to your image hosting site. Then go through the standard procedure of that site to get the URL (not the procedure I outlined above). Copy and Paste the URL of the clip art into the URL box on the auction form. That will prompt the PIC icon to show up and the clip art will be at the bottom of your auction page (on eBay anyway).

If you Copy and Paste the URL of your clip art so that you permanently have a record of it, like in Mister Lister, (I imagine Seller's Assistant also allows this) or into a Word document, you won't have to keep accessing it over and over again on the image hosting site.

Here are my new procedures (still getting used to it really):

1. Scan a bunch of pictures and upload them to the image hosting site.
2. Write descriptions of the items using FrontPage and then use the Copy and Page procedure I described above to insert the pictures in my description.
3. Enter the items in my inventory list.
4. Then when I'm ready to list the items on eBay, all I need to do is Copy and Paste the HTML from FrontPage and put it into the description box.

I'm finding it easier to insert the pictures prior to listing the items rather than at the time of the listing. It helps if you're pressed for time and would like to get a bunch of auctions up all at once.

Thanks for all of the tips. I just bought Front Page this week also to start designing a Web Page for my B & M Shop. I purchased CliffNotes
"Creating Your First Web Site with FrontPage 2000"

I haven't started yet but this little book seems to walk you right thru the basics of creating a Web Page.

I love using Front Page also. I use an auction management software but I keep templates on Front Page for all my various items with the stuff already filled in that always stays the same. Then I just open Front Page, write up the auction, click on the HTML button, cut and paste the HTML into my auction management software for the auction I'm working on and never have to worry about all those HTML codes. My auction management software automatically uploads my photos to my photo hosting space so I don't have to worry about that portion of it.

If you design a webpage in Front Page be sure to check it with both IE and Netscape to make sure it works for both browsers as some Front Page stuff can get very messed up when viewed with Netscape. You can set Front Page so the functions that are unusable in Netscape will be grayed out and you won't be tempted to use them.
