we were just talking about that...do you think our rate of 1.8%(thru costco--nova)would be better than paypal and how about the customers being some what leary of cc info provided over internet---most of them are already ready to go with paypal.

If you are doing as much business as you say... forget screwing with paypal
and just set up a checkout at your website using a merchant account payment

We use a "shopping cart" on one of our sites and use both direct payment through us, or PayPal, but all these items can have preset shipping charges. On our other site, we only take our own merchant account cards because PayPal isn't set up for a shopping cart, where shipping has to be calculated after the purchase. We use both and are happy with both.
