Got a strange e-mail overnight - came in the form of a "Ask Seller A Question" - this person says he bought this item from me last year or so from me - that it was not an original item - I gave him refund - he said he was going to report me to e-Bay, but I begged him not to - so they wouldn't know I was selling "fakes"... - so the kicker is - I have only been selling on eBay since January 2001 (my history shows I became a member in October 2000). I initially began selling on YooHoo until they started charging fees so I left them and came to eBay in January. I have NEVER sold anything on ANY internet auction site until November 2000 (at YooHoo) - so this "other" seller was NOT me! Neither did I get a new id from eBay - am capefeartrading and have always been ever since October 2000! So anyway, this guy says he's going to "spread the word" about me - I e-mailed him back "in a nutshell" here - he had the wrong person - it wasn't me, etc. I advised him not to spread rumors about me - because that is what it would be - and I was going to send a copy of that e-mail to SafeHarbor...

Any thoughts from you guys on this - am still a "novice" - and learning everyday - seems like alot of creeps have come out of the woodworks this week-end (see my other Post - "Newbie" with Shades)...Sure would like to hear what ya'll think...thanks! Lee-CFTC

Well, it could be someone else had capefeartrading before you did and changed their name to something else long before you got here. After 30 days the user names goes up for grabs again.

Or it could be someone playing games with you, or it could be someone from yahoo who has a grudge, or it could be one of your competitors.

You came to ebay same time I did I started selling on ebay here recently. I figure if I'm gonna pay fees to list I'd go where there was traffic.

Hi Lee!
Could it be that one of your competitors from YooHoo has found you? a disgruntled former bidder?
You mention how long you've been selling and where, but refrained from commenting about the "fake" accusation ~ any truth (real or inferred) to that?
It doesn't seem like you've been around long enough to have made enemies

Hi zoomin! Regarding what the item was/is - at least the item he "asked seller a question" about is an ORIGINAL 1940 Bill Monroe concert poster. I don't know about the other guy - but mine IS Original. I personally went to Benton Card Company approx. 5 miles from where I live and purchased it! It is not a remake or reproduction but in fact an ORIGINAL...actually this weird person could've just picked that auction to "ask" his question - who knows...the only posters I have are Originals or reproductions - as simple as that...

If I have any enemies, at least, up until now, I was unaware of any. I only have one negative on YooHoo (or anywhere else)- sore bidder that bought an expensive item and said I was fruad...NOT! How does one NOT make enemies? I am always on the up-and-up with everything I sell...oh my!

>> How does one NOT make enemies? <<
Although I am usually quite an optimist, I am also into the "reality" thing!
Unfortunately, as long as there as people who need to be enemies, people like you and I will always "make" them.
Let's just not become them!!
Did you report the loony tune?
IMHO, the "ask the seller a question" feature is just a bit too easy ~

Hey zoomin! I was not at my home computer when I replied to him (I DID copy myself however) - so tonight when I get home - I am going to forward the "whole" thing to SafeHarbor!

There is no capefeartrading ID registered on eBay. A search on that user ID returns a user ID invalid message.

Hi noshill ! - I don't know about the possible "other" capefeartrading, but I use my e-mail address as my eBay id - which is: [email protected]If you look again, be sure not to put an "e" into intrstar (not interstar) - sometimes, that's tricky! Try again and it'll come up!

Well - this thing just has me plain puzzled! When I got home had another e-mail from another buyer - the first guy had got to him!!! - anyway to get right to it - I thought only sellers could get bidders e-mail addresses? Am I correct? What's going on here? If he got hold of one - could he possibly have gotten hold of them all? How? Do you think these two guys are working together ? I don't know - I can't figure this puzzle out? I've e-mailed/copied SafeHarbor with all of this...what do ya'll think?
