Hi...does anyone write their own script; put it into Notepad -
write the acution -
put into Mr. Lister or the eBay submit page...
is that fashion faster for you?
thanks for any insights...

I use one of those enhanced clipboards - mine is called clipmate - and I keep a bunch of text that can be pasted together to make descriptions as well as other things. Several end of auction texts depending on the sort of item. I offer different payment and shipping terms say for tools as compared to books.
Also short letters for common problems such as have not recieved payment or funds not enough for foriegn shipping.

I tried it a couple times...slower for me. I now have the basic stuff (html, text for auction counter, tos, etc.)in a block with spaces to fill in for title, description, shipping amount, method). Most of my stuff is not repetative so this works out fine. If I get the same item again, I just copy it from an old ML batch.

If you are doing this, why not just use the MisterLister email feature? Why bother doing online submit? One email can submit multiple auctions at once.

Hi, I have done it that way since day 1....and that was a long time ago...<g>...It works great for me. I do my auction write ups...save them to notepad....and then when I want to list them, I copy and paste into Mr.Lister or AW Pro. It is great if you want to go back and list something that hasn't been listed in awhile. I don't know if its the best way, but it has worked for me and I find it the best and fastest for me.

I disconvered a neat little trick that works well for me. I type up all my listing using the ebay sell your item page right on the site. Then I preview my listing.
If I like the listing I then view the page source, copy and paste the whole thing into Edit Pad (Edit Pad works the same as Notepad but it holds larger amounts of text than NP and you need to hold a lot of text when you copy the whole ebay listing.)
Then, when I'm ready to lauch the auction I open the saved ebay file in my browser window and hit the submit button. Works like a charm.
There is a review of Edit Pad at the url below. I use it all the time for my auctions. It has some nice features that Notepad lacks and it's freeware, which is a real bonus.

lamps -- Fantastic!!! I am impressed at your resourcefullness and mightily grateful for the tip!!
I have stayed away from the bulk listers because they space the auctions so close together. Don't like this for 2 reasons (1) if someone likes something of mine they see shortly before the auction closes, and they click on "View seller's other auctions" they get to auctions spaced so close they don't have time to browse (this happened to me as a buyer once, and I was very frustrated). (2) If I'm selling 2 or 3 of the same items I like them to be spaced 20 or 30 minutes apart at least. Otherwise, the 2nd one always suffers price-wise.

There are a number of NotePad based HTML editors, with the ability to insert the right commands from their toolbars.
I use MSWord, modified to have a toolbar that inserts some HTML commands and Autotext to insert large chunks of repetitive text and template for various objects. When I get a batch of 10 or so items done, I open ML and start pasting descriptions.
I used ot use the ML email thing, but it's WAY PICKIER than the ML program submissions.

I use clip plus for my basic template on Mister Lister works great and very fast. I also use shortkeys lite for all that repetitive stuff.

thepriest Are you setting up a template of sorts? That's what I want to do, then drop (copy/paste) into ML. Maybe work outside of Lister for awhile by playing with a template then use the Notepad script or other word program. I think I know what you want to do. This could be cool. Be advised though that if you're uploading your pic's CERT, just announced a vulnerability to those type of uses where they can be hacked. Let's see a sample text. Just change the item.

Hi Empires...
I've been experimenting using Notepad.
I paste in the html script - then fill in with the descriptions. Since every item is different (collectibles & antiques), I can't reuse each description.
I use to use Mr. Lister, but its unstable - plus, can't use the buy It Now.
Seller's Assistant is simply an html scripting with many bugs. From what I've seen with most of those programs, we can do that ourselves without the hassles and cost.
Somewhere on AW I'd read of others using notepad etc.

I don't want to copy the whole page including eBay's portion in HTML because they change minor things on the page so often I figure I will glitch the system.
