Sorry but I just don't see the value in this. eBay is so big and vast and wide I never see the same deadbeat twice.

Better they should quit squandering their time and energies on pointless window dressing features like these and concentrate ON BASIC FUNCTIONS LIKE TITLE/DESCRIPTION SEARCH.

WHAT GOOD IS BLOCKING BIDDERS WHEN NOBODY CAN FIND YOUR GODDAM AUCTION IN THE FIRST PLACE?

Needless to say, I'm pretty pissed off.

Yes!!!!!!!!!!

I always felt sorry for sellers who had some moron keep bidding on their auctions after they were told to stop and their bids were cancelled. Now those slimey bidders can be stopped!

It is of little value because a person can get create a new ID with a new email. Remember, AOL lets you create 7 emails and Ebay doesn't need a credit card for AOL (at least I don't think they do, haven't used AOL in a long time!)

Everybody start blocking bidders like crazy..PLEASE!!

To bad they didn't make it so one could block all bidders with less than 20 feedback, or any bidder who had even one non-pay blackmark, or any bidder with any negative feedback, or any bidder from AOL.

I guess I will just have to hope and pray a little more...maybe Ebay will see the light!
Then I can get all the bidders everyone else blocked.

Cool.

I used VRANE to find everyone I've left Neutral or Negative FB for, or who has left that for me. Extrcet the USED id's out and Pasted that list right in!

Questions:

Why do I hear about this first here, rather than a nice Email from Ebay (I am a power seller)

Why only 1000 id's? There's way more than 1000 nuts on Ebay.

I'm wondering if a blocked bidder is informed that they have been blocked, at least prior to trying to bid.

In over 3 years of selling on ebay, I have one name that I will consider adding to the list. But it occurred to me that if eBay sends them an email or somehow informs them, this might just stir up trouble for no good reason.

As far as I can see, the FAQ makes no mention of notifying the bidder. Anyone know for sure ?

I assume the buyer won't be notified unless they attempt to place a bid. I have 20 names on my list, and Amy, I'd be more than happy to send all of them in your direction.

Hmmmmmm.

Earlier today I added 20 bidders to my Block list. After shutting down my puter & rebooting my list is now empty?

I checked the FAQ and according to eBay ....

Q. How long can I keep my list?

A. We will maintain your list as long as you are a registered member on eBay.

Looks like the damn thing doesn't even work?

Reddeer...have any of those 20 ever bid on your auctions more than once?

I don't mean a bidder who bid on 5 of your auctions that were running within close time proximity...I mean, did any of those deadbeat (I'm assuming here...I know, BAD BAD to assume...that these are deadbeats) on an auction and come back six months later and do it again?

How many of us have a bidder who deadbeats, or is a PITA and they come back later?

I'm just wondering if this "little extra" is really needed or is it just window dressing so that ebay looks like they are "doing what the users want".

As for sending the "blockees" my way...I wanted all the "under 20 feedback", "he has 1 negative so I don't want him (I don't care that he has 75 positives..one neg is one to many)", "she was rude to me so I don't want to deal with her again", "I don't want to deal with small wristed buyers ever again" ones that everyone else wants to get rid of

Amy ....... Relax, I was just yanking yer chain. Like you there's very few bidders that I don't want bidding on my items. My list doesn't just consist of past deadbeats, it has all sorts of unwanted bidders on it.
Some of them are local dealers I know that I can't stand, and yes, I don't want their bids or their money. A couple are whackos I've dealt with in the past, and yes they have placed bids after I asked them not to. Either way no biggie to me, just another tool to toss in the drawer.

BTW - If you read my thread on the Bidder Block, this appears to all be a moot point, 'cause the damn thing's not working anyhoo.
