I did something stupid.
That being said, here's the scoop:
I sold a cool widget for a good price. Bidder never paid, I e-mailed, NPBed, FVF'ed, and never has any contact from him.
Item was relisted, sold, and I moved on.
**note: I am transitioning from leaving FB at time of Pmt to leaving FB at time of being notified of the widgets safe arrival. With 40 or so auctions running a week, it can be difficult to change after 1200 transactions**
Scanning my feedback forum I see I didn't post FB for the winner of the cool widget that paid me so fast. I even read a not so thrilling FB history on this bidder and left this pos FB on his (-1) FB profile on 4-6:
Smooth transaction, HIGHLY recommended! No problem here! A+++,actually! thanks
Today I check my FB and I have my first neutral:
I never received the denim jacket after payment... what happened? E-mail me!
umm...oops!
Apparently, my FVF made him NARU for 30 days (which is why I never had the chance to NEG him). When he came back, it showed on my open feedback and I left him a POS by mistake.
My boo-boo so I'll pay for it on my FB history.
I would like to have the POS I left him removed! What do you think?
Since it is, partially, the fault of eBay's screwy system, do I have any chance of having my error removed? What approach would you take? This is not a case of retaliation ~ I am not trying to remove a POS because someone negged me, I screwed up (my bad, I'll wear the neutral with my response to it) but I don't want my POS FB on him convincing sellers that he has changed his DB ways!!
Any chance? any strategy suggestions? or is it too late?
TIA!!!

reddeer:
thanks!
I've tried to have FB removed before ~ never any luck, though.
from your link, have you had success with:
Feedback intended for another user will be considered for removal only in situations where the user responsible for the mistaken posting informs eBay of the error and has already placed the same feedback for the correct user.
to add:
Do you think I will get a better response if I send it through PowerSellers?

I tried and they would not help me. I was so pissed when I was leaving feedback for this person some how it was put in as pos instead of neg. I used every thing I could think of to get ebay to remove it or let me change to a neg, no go. Even told them that their programming made a mistake (I still think it did) but that did not work. It was a funny looking pos for them though.

You can enter mediation through SquareTrade, but it is usually to have a nuetral or negative removed. Will cost you at least $15.

sun818: thanks!
I try to do my best to help out the eBay community by filing NPB's and leving negs, but to pay $15 to warn other ssellers? not today!
I put together all of the documentation ~ both auction numbers, FB left on both winners, etc. Before I send it, does anyone know if I will get better results through PowerSellers?
(please tell me that as a responsible eBayer, there is at least some advantage to my "status" )

I have also seen sellers include a URL with points to a web page with the transaction details. The seller included all e-mail conversation, etc. to back up his negative feedback left.

Hi Zoomin! Long time no see!
I was in a situation a while back where I left NEGS for a deadbeat and that person was NARU'd. The deadbeat then emailed me to tell me they were on a 30-day suspension and once they were back on ebay they would NEG me back. I forwarded the emails to safeharbor and they told me that if a deadbeat is NARU'd, they are NOT allowed to leave negative feedback on past transactions to retaliate. Safeharbor told me that if this deadbeat was to retaliate when their account was reinstated, to let them know and they would remove the negs.
So, it looks like you can probably have your neutral removed, but I really don't know if they will remove your positive you gave the deadbeat. I would say to try using the excuse "I gave it to the wrong person, why would I leave a positive for a deadbeat who never paid?"... hopefully that will work!!
Send copies of your email to [email protected], and [email protected]. (I'll bet you get 2 different answers, too! Stick with the one you like the best! )
Good luck!
Edited to add: I have had *several* feedbacks removed in the past - it CAN be done!

I though that with the new feedback system you can go and add to your original feedback without the other person having to respond to it first. I know that wouldn't be the same thing as removing the positive, but it would be something.
