http://www.cnn.com/2001/TECH/internet/04/11/yahoo.porn.ap/index.html?s=8
Well I for one think this is abhorrent, and don't believe the general public is aware of this.
This info first appeared on the Yahoo Board. I appreciate the info.
I have already notified some of the more active Christian organizations regarding this so that they can notify their people, and they can mobilize their petitions and letter writing folks to tell Yahoo advertisers, that as long as Yahoo so proudly sells pornography that they will not support said advertiser and/or Yahoo. It is time the general public was made aware of this position of Yahoo’s!
Yahoo thinks they are losing advertisers now, how many more will they lose when the conservative public starts contacting their remaining advertisers!
I would encourage any of you with contacts to active groups to notify them of this position of Yahoo and their sale of pornography – they are being as arrogant and disgusting about this as Larry Flint ever was! Yahoo is acting like they are totally untouchable, and can flood American homes with pornography trash and no one will care. It is time we cared, and let Yahoo and their advertisers know it, LOUD AND CLEAR!
At the moment I can't find an e-mail link to mail Yahoo, if any of you have one, please post it.
Here is the phone, fax, and snail mail info:

Flood American homes with pornography? Do you mean they've found a way to force you to look at their website against your will? I'm sure all the other online advertisers will be happy to hear of this development.
Or are you using a gross exaggeration in order to make your point sound more reasonable than it would if looked at objectively?
As long as it is legal to sell, I don't see any problem with their decision. Do you still want me to tell them what I think?

So you don't want it don't buy it.
I don't want it - don't buy it and I am too busy with a life of my own to tell other people what to do.
They are lots of volunteers needed for actual help for the old sick and needy that are positive activities to help humanity instead of misplaced moral crusades. Our older person's center is always looking for help with meals on wheels and day programs.
How much better use of your time than loadly announcing you don't approve of how others live and conduct themselves. What really does that accomplish except to make a small group feel superior?

Moderator, why is this stinky thread open?
It's not ebay related.
Who cares what they sell? No one's asking you to buy it!
The depths of the stupidity of this post
(not the thread originator, Mods) astound me.
Wait, of course not.

simply amazing....
Why don't you BUY Yahoo, and then YOU can do with it what YOU want.
But until that time, try to focus on the fact that it is not YOUR business, and not up to YOU to dictate what THEY do and do not allow on THEIR site.

I have no idea why you're so hyped up over this.
The neighborhood, mom and pop liquor stores AS WELL AS chains like 7-11 sell porn magazines. Do you shop there?
The video stores have an adult section. Do you rent videos?
Ebay has an adult section with literally THOUSANDS of people purchasing pornographic materials every single day. Do you buy or sell on Ebay?
The people making and purchasing pornography are adults and can choose to look at pictures or movies of other people having sex if they so choose. The buyers include doctors, lawyers, construction workers, teachers, waiters, secretaries, and other people you come in contact with every day. It's a billion dollar industry and statistics show that porn is NOT primarily purchased by dirty old men in raincoats. The highest levels of pornographic movie rentals occur in at videos in the suburbs----your friends and neighbors, pal.
Keep up your silly crusade if you want, but aren't there some kids who need feeding or some adults who need help learning to read in your neighborhood? You would be far better off working with them than trying to plug up the ocean of porn in the world with a Q-tip.

You poor people, I feel for you. I am sure some moderator will be along soon to lock this for you.
litlux Sorry, wrong number. This is the ebay discussion board.
Capriole Go troll elsewhere. Moderator, why is this stinky thread open? It's not ebay related.
Well what about these, they are not related either but people are having a good productive conversation in them. litlux you even posted in the first one.
Half.com CC Problems? This is about Half.com not eBay
anyone getting phone calls from paypal? This is about marketing calls from PayPal not eBay
Get This! This is about a bidder that called late one night, not eBay Capriole posted in this one.
For Goodness Sakes! Crop Will Ya??? This complains about photo size, not eBay.
I left out the ones that I found the word eBay in the original message subject but many of them are not aBout eBay just about auction experience.
Be productive (at least try to be, I sometimes wonder if I am) in a thread or do not post to it or read it, let it die or have a happy life with other people.
If the moderators lock this one I would think they would lock all the rest and about 50% of the other ones in the E0

The stories of Yahoo issuing commands to your computer causing the mouse cable to tie the person down while porn is flashed on the screen forcing the user to look have not been confirmed. If these rumors are confirmed as true then I'll be among the first to issue a complaint to Yahoo.
I'm a little busy right now in my campaign to have grocers in my area stop offering brussel sprouts. I can't stand brussel sprouts and I'll not rest till they have been removed from every produce section.

Censorship discussions belong on the AW Roundtable board.
Besides, if you are so afraid of porn, I feel for you.
Guess what?
I'm sending a fax supporting the sale of any damn thing they want to on their site, and to ignore ignorant trollage.
ps response the the "Get this" thread is ebay related. Just stop and think about it for a moment.
Uh huh, there you go, customer service issues.
Don't make me laugh about this. this isn't ebay at all. It's some freak getting freaked over other freaks.
And why can't the freaks just get along?

Porn, don't bother me, I stay away from it, I think it is wrong and do not promote it. I do not necessarly agree with the posters approch either.
You must love and promote it since my post got you so worked up. Sorry it was not intended to, just stating my opinion and the facts.

You are absolutely right! Brussel sprouts must go! Just look at the disgusting little things. They're ugly and those, oh so tightly packed and well rounded little leaves are just asking for trouble. They're evil, plain and simple! No good can ever come of them! THEY MUST ALL BE DESTROYED!

LMAO!
Jim you are a hoot.
Whatever you want to think, but you miss the salient issue: censorship.
That cheap shot indicates the level of discussion I can expect, too bad you just don't get it.
I always have to laugh at men who start by saying "I stay away from it" like it's a disease. Then bash others with some sort of hammer of Superiority.
Weak. Weak. Weak.
Prurient Puritanicals are what makes the industry thrive. I have a lot more respect for sellers who realize it's an item to sell just like cameras, jewelry, glasswear etc.
Anyhow, I can only laugh when I see arguments like that one: lame.
But thanks for your concern, I do work in media, so I care about censorship, a lot.
You assume a lot.
And your "facts" weren't relavent, in fact they were skewed.
Gee, better call a couple of friends to see if I can get some jobs on their porn shoots.
Just kidding with ya.....LOL
