When I went to mail my packages the other day, I went to a different window clerk. I mailed a cd. It cost $1.18 postage. I glanced over to the clerk I usually go to and she looked away from me which is weird because she usually is friendly and says hello....which is why I had been going to her for mailing off my packages. I mention how much the cds had been costing me in the past to mail and the clerk found that very odd. She asked me if I had any receipts from when I mailed some and I had a couple still in my car. They are now investigating the window clerk for possible fraud. The post office asked me to keep quiet about it until they contacted me after looking into the matter so I said ok. I figure it's probably confidential stuff going on since it's the government. I don't know what they're going to do about it, but I'm never going back to that one window clerk again.

Man that's brutal. Hopefully it will all work and maybe the nice postal worker just didn't understand shipping rates or something. This happened to me yesterday. I was trying to mail a package of magazines to my Mother and had to explain to the clerk that Ohio is a part of the US and therfore I didn't need to pay the Global rate or deal with customs forms......The other ladies behind the counter looked like they were going to bust a gut trying not to laugh...

sid: OMG! That is hilarious! (Well, actually, it's so funny that it's NOT funny!)

I don't know if that's what she was doing or if she's just stupid....but they're supposedly investigating the matter. It's been a hellavaweek lmao

I love my postal clerks dearly..they are actually fascinated by my ebay business & are always happy to see me.
But there's atleast one dim bulb in the group. When I asked for media mail on a package, she told me that was for newspapers & television station mailings. DUH!

What I don't understand is if you have receipts for higher postage from the other clerk she would have to be putting the money in the drawer wouldn't she. The money total has to match the receipt total. Not saying she isn't taking money, but how is she doing it.
Edited for bad spelling.
