I was just on ebay and saw somthing i have never seen before ?? When you enter the auction on the top left side there is a small picture just like a thumb nail ...it's new i have never seen this before ...how does it work and is there a cost..
ps i am not talking about the gallery this was right in the auction on the top left hand side

There always has to be a new feature (usually of dubious value) to offset the fact that they're now charging you for a more useful feature.

The thumbnails are an unwelcome addition, IMHO. They disrupt the look of the page, and for what? The pics are so small you can't even get an idea of what they show. Just more fluff. But I'm sure there are those who will pay for it believing it'll make their item "stand out."

I agree 100% with spazmodeus-Heck, even the "supersized" iPIX pictures usually look like blobs on my monitor! Absolutely the worst pics I've seen! Well, except for those reallllly out of focus ones where the seller says: "sorry for my bad pics".
The only useful thing about the new "thumbnail" at the very top....I don't have to wait for the whole auction to load! The minute I see that little blob at the top, I'll know the pic/s are hosted by iPIX and I can just back out and not waste my time!
The really sad thing for me is I have seen an increase in the number of sellers using iPIX and many seem to be opting for the 1 FREE one! Even some of my favorite sellers are now using them....and from what I am able to actually "see", there might as well not be a picture at all!!!
