AuctionWatch sellers are expressing concern that referral money they are entitled to receive from PayPal is being intercepted by AuctionWatch.
AuctionWatch sellers are entitled to a $5 referral if their buyers choose PayPal as their payment method. To qualify for the Refer-A Friend bonus, users had to sign up for PayPal, confirm their e-mail address, confirm a checking account, add $100 or more by electronic funds transfer into their PayPal account and sign up for a Money Market Fund.
In order to get the bonus for new referrals, links are formatted with the text "pal=userid" at the end. Sellers usually set this up with their own user ID in the link. However, AuctionWatch has ended the link with "[email protected], which surprised sellers who assumed their own user ID was inserted in the string.
"The concern is that AuctionWatch has a method to capture bonuses that their users would have expected to get for themselves," one AW user, who preferred to remain anonymous, told SuperSeller. "Maybe the more wary and computer-savvy noticed, but my guess is that most did not.<

That explains why I haven't seen a referral bonus in nearly a year. Used to get them quite often initially. AW, what is your response?
