Is it ok per ebay's rules to list another seller's closed auction number & selling price in your description? I was searching widgets and noticed a newbie seller had just listed a widget identical to one that closed last week at a very nice price. This seller has a reserve and states in his auction that the reserve price is much less than auction #XXXXXXXXXX that sold for $$$$$. I don't really think it's ethical, but was just wondering if it violated ebay's policy.

I don't know but it sure doesn't sound ethical to me. IMHO it would turn bidders off.

If you really want to reference it you could say something like "an identical one of these widgets sold for over X amount of dollars recently on Ebay" but I wouldn't mention the number
