Hello All:
I purchased a copy of a LGB "Little Mommy" today. As I usually do, I ran completed auctions to get an idea of what an item as sold for on eBay. There was only one of these in completed and it was selling for $58.39 on a reserve auction (The reserve wasn't met when it closed.) Is there a place on the web were I can go to check comparative prices of the Little Golden Books? There are lots of sites with LGB info but nothing, that I can find, with price ranges, etc. I checked Bibliofind and they only had one and I think they wanted
$175.00. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Joe

There was an article in Todays Collector in March about LGB. The email for the author of the price guide, (who is an avid collector) is [email protected]. He also has a website www.thesantis.com Good Luck with your book.

Collectors of Little Golden Books are looking for first printings. Look for an A somewhere near the bottom of the copyright page. They are so commonly reprinted and go through dozens of printings that non-A first editions are a dime a dozen.

Little Mommy does not have to be a First Edition to fetch a good price. I sold a later printing for over $100 on eBay. It was in very good condition though.
Of course how many people are bidding on it when you list your book will determine the outcome. It also helps if no other copies are listed at the same time. It is a very sought after book.

Hi TheFed,
I just did a search at www.abe.com, and came up with two matches. Neither are first printings. If it's the same book, one asking price is $98 and the other is $175.

Just wanted to note that the "A" in the older books is not found on the copyright page but on the very last page in the bottom right hand corner and even sometimes so far to the right that it is hidden underneath the spine. In that case look "hard" without doing any damage.
Good luck!
