I have 370+ posistives, and am dealing with an irrational bidder. She emailed me for 3 days until her package arrived asking when the package will arrive??? Now she emails me a nasty letter saying that the item was filthy and stained, not true! Ugggg. Thanks for listening. : (

When you get one like that, tell 'em send it back, and I'll refund your money. If they try to talk you into a partial refund and keeping the merchandise, I would take the neg first, but that's me.

First neg? do not worry about it. Once its over you will feel better. One gets to deal with all sorts out there. Can not make everyone happy all the time.
If they are hard to deal with, leave them one also. Now that will cheer you up in no time

Thanks! I will probably leave a neutral or neg myself because she has been so difficult, to warn other bidders if nothing else. She has 100 positives, 6 negs, and 4 neutrals.

It's like the first ding in a new car. The first one hurts the worst.
Then again, I could be wrong. Not only don't I have any negs (yet), I've never had a new car.

LOL. I just checked and this bidder also has 40 bid retractions. Is there not a policy or limit of how many bid retractions a bidder can have?

Report the bid retractions to [email protected]
They'll send the bidder an email warning them of possible suspension ..... maybe?

Julie,
Just be glad you have the opportunity to give a refund. I got blind-sided by my first neg. I would have cheerfully refunded and sold to the next bidder.
There's no pleasing some people.

Yes, I too am bracing for my first neg! Sold a book listed at $ 3.50 and it sold for $5.00~ first edition and signed. Listed as ex library + fair only condition.
Buyer writes back that I gave a lousy description and how dare I list such a book. I wrote back saying how I would refund but if it had been in good condition item would have sold for $ 200.00 . Go figure for a signed first edition for $ 5.00 and he is complaining. Not like I tried to hide anything like forgot to mention ex library. I myself am disgusted when I get a book listed as good to very good and the book comes in at fair if that ! but listed as fair only / ex library. Thanks goodness most of my buyers really like what they get. Suz23 only here

Don't feel bad! Just got my first 2 from the same person after almost 4 years on ebay. After about 30 emails from her and her wanting to send half the order back, I just had had enough. Had already told her to return merchandise for a refund. Guess she couldn't figure out how or where to return it, duh !

I got a neg fro a guy who didn't pay after numerous emails to him. Each Time I sent an email to him, first he told me payment was in the mail. Then he would write back I stating he never bid on the item. After I claimed Non-paying bidder refund. He left neg feed back. Stating I was gay and stupid! I have nothing against gay people, but I'm married and have three children. And not gay.
The guy was a real jerk! Oh, and I'm not stupid.
I did put this behind me in was several months ago. But I guess in still annoys!

Julie920,
Be thankful that your bidder at least contacted you to complain! I have over 750 positives... and three customers who left me undeserved negatives. NONE of those customers bothered to contact me to let me know that they had problems before they left negative feedback. I would have happily done what I could to make things right for them. In you case, I believe you could still salvage this transaction. Offer to refund the full bid price (don't offer to pay for shipping!) if the item is returned to you. Also, you might want to say that once you confirm that your "mark" is on the item, you will send the refund (lot's of selers use UV markers to mark their items in case of switcheroo's... the buyer doesn't have to know you didn't really do this!... and it does sound like the person may be planning a switch like this!) Good luck!

That's horrible! You might want to contact SafeHarbor about that feedback. I believe that slander of that nature is grounds for removal of feedback. So... you might be able to clear the neg off your record!
