Just curious...I sell on ebay and have a AW storefront which shows everything listed on ebay. I am considering listing some fixed price items in my storefront. Has anyone out there had any success on selling fixed price items from storefronts? The ebay link is the only link I have right now, so selling fixed price items would have to be from ebay bidders who see the link.....any comments would be greatly appreciated!

I do not have many items in fixed price yet - about 10. I have had at least 5 since the beginning. I have NOT sold one item.

As a matter of fact, I have an item in storefront for $30.00 and an identical item on ebay starting at $24.99. Sold the auction item for $43.00. Do bidders click? Do bidders look? I do not think so.

Just my experience.

Thanks, RichieRich....I don't have any fixed price items listed yet. I was considering listing the items from auctions that do not sell the first time around - or second time for that matter. Have you had many responses from either the Auction Listing mailing list or the Storefront mailing list? I think it is a great concept IF we can get people to sign up. This might help with slow sales on ebay. What do you think about this?

I am a new fan of the storefront idea. I just started advertising it and have had several good sales from it. Unfortunately they have not been from the ebay link, but were customers I enticed into the store from other websites/message boards that some of my customers frequent. I really like the idea of having fixed prices and like how easy it was to set up. I think it will catch on!

Lets not forget you have to advertize them store fronts.

one way is search paypal store fronts if you already have the business account why not add your store front to there list.

if you have you own domain name and web site set up a subdomain redirect for your AW store front http://storefront.yourdomain.com
and submit this to search engines.

make a 468x60 banners and get involved in a few banner exchanges.

or invest a few dollars to run your store front banner on the free stuff websites usually you can get a pretty good deal to $1 per 1000 impressions but these sites draw loads of people looking for bargans
and even running your banner a day or two can pick up lots of hits for your store and auctions as well.

also add your store front URL to your sig file in all your email.

not only do the people you send your email to get to see this but many times people will get lazy and use your email to reply or forword to others and they to will see your store front URL.

these are just a few Ideas.

I have my storefront link in my end of auction notification, my your item shipped notification, and the little note I put in each package.

I have about 25 people on the mailing list that signed up thru an auction and about 10 that signed up at the storefront.

Now what do I do with these mailing list people?! I recently purchased truck loads of inventory. I sent them an email with a very general description of what I had for up coming auctions.

I plan (this week) to send another email with a mailing list only offer! You can buy this at this price. I have limited quanities and sizes so it will be first come first serve type email. I hope to do this about every 3 weeks. My thought is that they will at least remember me and maybe look at my auctions every 3 weeks. I do not want to overwhelm them and I think 3 weeks is good.

What do you do? or hope to do? A penny for your thoughts or better yet....get a really bargain by bidding on my auctions! or purchasing from my storefront. LOL

Richie--
3 weeks is good but you could even be a little more frequent and it will probably work to your advantage. If you don't want to do a weekly "sale" e-mail, think about a weekly newsletter of some sort so that your name is in front of them more often. I'm not sure what you sell but if you have a main interest of some sort (mine happens to be saving money), think of a way to use that to create a weekly newsletter/ad and give it a try. :0)
Good luck!
LOL about the penny thought thing.

I am afraid that weekly would be a little on the pushy side. What is your opinions?

I specialize in large size men's and women's clothing. Most of my auctions start at $9.99 - at least for the men. The women's at a little more. My items are mostly all brand new with the tags attached.

I priced my Buy Now price at what an auction normally would close around. Maybe a little high on some items. But as I mentioned before one Buy Now storefront price was $30.00 and sold at auction (well on the storefront) for $43.00. My Buy Now prices with postage is still less than retail.
