yes, the previous solution was to email ebay with a cc to the bidder, asking the bidder not to bid in my auctions, which always upset the bidder, and of course they could still bid, but would just get in hot water with ebay. now they can't bid at all. previous posts here discuss there is a message that pops up should the blocked bidder attempt to bid, which tells them they have been blocked. less traumatic for them, and less embarassing I would imagine.

I recently had a bidder bid on one of my auctions who had really bad feedback, and was NEG happy over the dumbest things. I wanted to cancel their bid, but since it was early in the auction I waited until they were outbid.
Once they were outbid I immediately BLOCKED them from being able to re-bid on this or place bids any of my other auctions.
I will be getting a lot of use out of this new feature!

I'm using it now. This is the message bidders will see if you have them on your block list and they attempt to bid:
"Unfortunately, this seller has decided that you are not permitted to bid on their listings. You may contact the seller via the Ask Seller a Question feature if you want additional details.
Please note: You may not use other eBay accounts to bid on this seller's listings. Doing so may result in your indefinite suspension from eBay."
