Now that Honesty.com will be charging for even 5 small images starting 5/3, I was wondering if anyone know of a web site that offers free image hosting. I do not sell that mnay items that require images, only like 5, so I only need like a site that can host/hold 5 images for free. If anyone know of one, please let me know! thanking you in advance.

I think ebay will host one or maybe two pictures for free. AuctionWatch is free if you use their listing service and .10 per image if you don't. Many ISP's give you at least a few megabytes of web space.

Hi debbielennon,

I'm not going to make your post 'vanish' just yet Instead I will ask you to please edit your post to invite the originator to email you for information if you are comfortable with that, taking the promotional wording out of your post.

If you're unable to do this within the next 30 minutes I'll have to delete your post.

Thanks,
Sara

Honesty is charging by the MB of images stored. Not by each picture stored. 3mb of storage space=3.00 per month, etc.

Sure wish AW had come up with something like that when they decided to charge for image hosting. I would have stayed for something like that.

Hi jwoodcraft, I know, but I dont want to pay 3.00 for under 3mb of image, as they are saying after 5/3, under 3mb will now be 3.00, something they said was free awhile back.

I think it's only a matter of time before all of the "free" image hosting sites will start charging one way or another. That's why I signed up with PhotoPoint after they announced their new policy. After all, what should we do? Keep running around every other month trying to find a new site when our current one starts charging? Pretty soon there will be nowhere to run to...

That said, if you don't want to set up a simple web page with your ISP, PhotoPoint is supposed to be free for up to 10 images. After that, it's $9.95 for the first year up to 1000 images.

Other than that, do a search for free image hosting and you should come up with a small selection.

Nothing will always be free. It has turned out that related advertising on all the free sites doesn't pay off. As long as you are going to end up paying, or spend a lot of time rushing to the current, temporarily free site; why not bite the bullet, put all your eggs in one basket, and go with (or stay with) the best- Auction Watch. BTW I have no relationship with AW except as one who put all his eggs in one basket a few months ago. Best ebay/net decision I ever made.

Here's an idea. sign up with one of those free websites, likejustwebit and paste the url in your aucton. And maybe down the road you may end up selling stuff off that web site.

Seems like Photopoint should work for you.I am hoping to keep using them if I keep my needs under 10 pics at a time.

Photopoint is going to start charging to host images. When I first started, I used MyItem, but bidders told me they hated to "Click to see Image", so I switched to AW.

Auctionflow is still free, but they have a message that leads me to believe they will start charging soon.

Not one with a TOS I like. I bit the bullet and pay $5 a month for 60 megs of space I can do anything I want with.

In case you're considering using Yahoo! GeoCities, this is from their TOS:

You agree to not use the Service to:

(o) use your home page (or directory) as storage for remote loading or as a door or signpost to another home page, whether inside or beyond Yahoo GeoCities;

(bold added)

If you go ahead and use them, there is always the possibility you might wake up one morning and find that the pictures in your auctions have been changed to a Yahoo! logo, or somehow otherwise blocked- other "free" sites have done something similar in the past.

Yup. Angelfire did that to me.

As mentioned, you can upload two pix per auction for free on ebay.

Why not do that?

ebay hosting is awful Picture quality is poor and usually useless. Also, if you view ebay bulk upload chat board, numerous problems cited with the service and uploading images.

Also, ebay change the rules. You only get one picture for free. Very expensive for more than one pic.

AuctionWorks looks go so far. Free hosting but their management and posting cost if item sells. Easy to use but I haven't been there for long so......
