For all you wide eyed, "gee, why don't you want to sell intrernational-it's ez" sellers-how do I handle this one. A buyer in South Korea wins a camera manual from me and pays a very premium price. Pays me via Bidpay and I send the flat camera booklet out to him via Global Priority mail on 4/9. He emails me on 4/25-haven't received item, trace it. I check his auctions and see that he's since won 2 identical manuals, both for about 20% of what he paid me. I have sold about 900 items-none lost or damaged (about 30 international sales) and have received cash from maybe 5 foreign countries without any problems over a span of 4+ years. He's asked me to "trace" the envelope. PO tells me that the Global Priority envelopes cannot be traced. He hasn't yet asked for a refund but it's probably coming. I'm suspicous because he's been able to buy the 2 manuals very cheaply & may have buyer's remorse over this purchase. HELP!!

If you feel that they are just shopping around for a lower price and giving you a line, I would not refund for that.

I tell overseas buyers that if I can not get insurance for the parcel, or costs are too high that they do not wish to pay for, then they are on their own.

I know it doesn't help any for this transaction but, for future reference, there is an international return receipt that you can purchase for most countries. Particularly if something is of value I would absolutely only ship with some sort of trackability.

Good luck with this. I feel pretty certain that the buyer received it and is, like you say, experiencing remorse for having paid more for it than he later found out he had to.

What has this got to do with International selling? Are you saying that none of the domestic wahoos tried this with you? Or are you implying people in Korea are dishonest?

By the way, for foreign mailings, one can do a proof of mailing - 75 cents to prove that item was mailed.

Just do what I do... "International Bidders- ALL SALES FINAL!"

Once it leaves my hands at the PO it's theirs... I close my books on it.

Of course only had 2 so far but it has worked out for me.
Ain't Life Grand...
