I was happy to have a $300 order from my storefront this morning but it is a credit card sale from Indonesia.

I know it is a risk to take it. Is there any other acceptable way to get payment that is safe besides cash? Are some of their money orders counterfeit or stolen also?

Last time when we had a sale to the Phillipines from our storefront we found that BidPay only accepted payments through auction accounts. Has that changed?

I am having a problem with BidPay. We had an ebay sale through Bidpay the other night and they sent me an e-mail asking for me to register and said that it was our first transaction with them though it wasn't. So far there is no record of the sale along with my others in the account. They have my e-mail address and mailing address but I don't know where my new account is.

Orders from the Philippines are OK. Orders from Indonesia are a NO NO. Stay away - far away! Accept payment by cash, Western Union or U.S. Money order only without exception.

Right, they're still auctions only as far as I know.

I think I'd pass on the sale?

I just read some past threads here and I guess I will suggest that they send cash by registered mail and then I will have to check if it is counterfeit.

They wanted it sent by International Purolator Courier at a cost of $44.42 US so it may be a scam alright. Too bad as $300 kind of perked me up.

Thanks for your help, everyone.

Hi magazine_guy,

Thanks for posting that list. I am surprised to see a country like Austria on it. I would never have thought they would be a risk.

I feel the "ouch" for you on that one, too. If they pay you in a safe method, such as genuine cash or a money order (remember, some of these can be cancelled, too, so be careful), then fine. Otherwise, just cancel and move on. This is a nightmare waiting to happen. Indonesia + credit card + rush delivery = $$$ out of your pocket and loss of your merchandise.

The thought of a $300 sale is nice, but if you don't actually GET the $300, then where are you? Sigh.

Hi misscandle,

I know exactly what you are saying. The $300 is no good unless I have it in my hot little hands plus I would be out my merchandise. He didn't e-mail back so I doubt it was legit. With our sale to the Phillipines at least she kept in touch and she did send cash.

But just after my last post here today some ladies walked into our shop and spent about $500 in a matter of minutes so it was my day for money after all. With all the other sales I was able to do a happy dance all the way home! Life is good!

Edited to say that the $500 was just in our Canuck buck but it was still okay.
