Last night I open my email to read a very strange message. It said "well as you can see it has been a really long time, so either i get my labels or my money back. i am very dissatisfied with this business" and was a reply to an ebay invoice I had mailed in early February. There was no greeting, no signature or name of who it was from, no other explanation -- just that one sentence.
This person won an auction for addy labels February 4th, and mailed a mo. I posted feedback, emailed her to let her know they were on the way, and mailed them on February 15th. I know I put correct postage on the envelope and had the correct address.
I emailed her back and sympathized with her, but said I was a little concerned that this email (which I thought was a little rude) was the first I've ever heard from her since she replied Feb 5th saying she was mailing payment. I'm a cycnical person and think she's lying, but I said that I would make replacements since she never received the first.
I would like others' opinions on this -- am I responsible this late after an auction? I don't care if she leaves me neg feedback, I can explain it, but the way this bidder went about it irritates me! I politely asked her why she waited nearly 3 months to inquire about her auction, but I haven't received any reply. I told her I needed her to resend her address, so I knew I was sending the new labels to the right place, and that I would have the PO track it and email her with all the tracking numbers I get from them. If I don't receive any further emails from her, then I won't send any more labels. The auction was only for $2.50 plus $0.70 shipping, but if I paid for something and it didn't arrive I certainly would check up on it!!

Sounds like a great advertisement for delivery confirmation. Stories like this and my own personal experiences are why I include it on every shipment. Small price for piece of mind.

It certainly is expensive, and considering that this is the first time this type of thing has happened in over 300 auctions, I won't be adding that price.
My question is on whether or not to question the bidder and whether it's okay to demand to know where something is nearly 3 months after the auction ended. I received another email from her saying that with her busy life and keeping track of her other auctions (she's got a feedback rating of 10), she didn't have the time to keep track of my auction. I've been fighting the urge to call her a liar, and was hoping to get some feedback from others whom this might have happended before, but no matter. I already printed up another set and will mail them in the morning (cheerfully calling her every name I can think -- in my head of course!)
