I purchased a piece of china today that was sold as a railroad piece & I know NOTHING about them. The bottom is marked " K.Y.&K. (the y may be a "v". Then below "S----V" except the line is solid. Then "CHINA" & finally R.C.H. on the bottom line. I've tried to find something like this listed but haven't had any luck so I thought I'd ask the experts! Thanks one & all for any help you can give me!

Hi, I found a KTK in "Lehner's Encyclopedia of U.S. Marks on Pottery, Porcelain & Clay.
Knowles, Taylor, Knowles (P.238-9)
East Liverpool, Ohio 1854 to 1931.
One of their backstamps listed was KTK, second line S(solid line)V, below that is the word CHINA. Sounds like yours.
The books states "No. 35 (the above) was filed for registration August 9, 1919, for table pottery, claiming use since 1905.
There is another backstamp with numbers under the word CHINA.
There are about 30 auctions on Ebay. Maybe one has a backstamp like yours. Lab Rat 4 GMOS
[Didn't see anything about RCH in the blurb.
Could be the company (railroad?) who ordered the china?]

Thanks for your help & sorry about the spelling! I'll check out those auctions. I checked the piece again & the top line is K.Y.& K.

The RCH could be the initials of a person because when railroad china was made sometimes the superintendent or owners had their own China for their Pullman cars. I have my grandfathers chairs from his, but he didn't have China. Something like the Presidents.
