This week I have had 3 different bidders who before they have even paid for their auctions wanted the return policy so they could return their winnings. One of the winners was honest and said that they were going to pay for the auction and then return the item because they already had something similar and they want something different.
I told that person if they would pay the fees and commissions I would release them from the auction.
The other two auctions the people got into bidding wars and I know that they have buyers remorse.
Last week I got an email from a college kid who said they got caught up in the excitment of bidding and could not afford to complete the auction. I also let him out if he would pay the fees and commission.
I do offer a return policy. Which I happily refund a persons money if they are unhappy with their purchase. I have thought about putting a restocking fee, which might stop the game players. I just hate to penalize the legitmate bidder with a complaint. Comments please.
Buyers what do you think about this? Would you pay for something and then return it, because you never intended to complete the auction in the first place?
Sellers have you had this happen and what did you do?

How about an Auction Credit, minus "whatever" fees. They would be
allow that much off, any of your other auctions, within a six month
period.

danilynn71 & bid22win Thanks for your responses. They were both helpful. I just can't decide how I want to handle this problem.
