I just purchased 39 or so videos ~ great kids stuff ~ the question is ~ when you purchase used video tapes ~ do you just sell them, or do you watch all or part of them first to make sure they are in good condition...........watching all of these would take up so much time..........so what do you do?

Better watch them I've bought several tapes that either had different stuff recorded on them such as intimate home movies (don't ask), I've also bought one that tape was damaged. You better make sure they are in good viewable condition before selling them.
I just play them while working on Ebay to make sure they are good.

I generally just watch the first minute or so and then fast forward to about half way through and watch another minute. Unless it's something I want to watch anyway.

I would just put them in the vcr and hit play. You don't have to watch them for content but you can have them play in the background while you cook, paint the house, clean, post auctions, etc... Any issues like lost sound will become apparent soon enough. And then you won't sell bad products.

Hey - you could have made some nice money on those intimate home movies - especially if they starred someone important in your town ....

Just a thought .......

In my used CD auctions, I post a disclaimer that CDs are guaranteed to play well, and offer a full refund if discovered otherwise. There's no way I can listen to every CD for the undetectable scratch.

I would do the same for videos if I were you.

That one is stored in the same vault as the "missing 18 minutes" ...

I play them in the background while I am working the Tv not to far away. It helps with the sales to let them know you view it if indeed you did.

PS Kids tapes I have always done better on Yahoo then Ebay because ebay has soo many of them or if I sell on ebay I group them.
