Just had to vent. Ebay's feedback policy is so flawed it's ridiculous. I had a 0 feedback bidder bid and win one of my auctions. She replied initially with her shipping address and said she would be sending the money. About 10 days later, she posted neg feedback for me saying I never contacted her and that I was "no good". At this point, she now has 2 negs. I write her asking why she did that when in fact she had replied to my email. She writes back and apologizes that she had me mixed up with someone else etc. Within a couple of days she has a -4 feedback and is now NARU.
I know Ebay seldom removes feedback, but I thought I would give it a try. After all, how could they allow someone to register, bid, not pay and leave all the people whose auctions she bid on unjustified negative feedback.
Well, I received a reply that they could not remove the feedback yada yada yada and they provided a link to their policy.
How ridiculous they this person is allowed to ruin my feedback just because they get their kicks doing this.

that's so horrible, Pal. Sigh.
There HAS to be some overhaul of feedback design, but what, when and how I don't know. I sell/buy on both Amazon and ebay and both have awkward, unreliable, inacurate, frustrating feedback systems. Often when I go to use Amazons a message will come up; "not available at this time, try back in 15 minutes". So you try for 5 or 6 DAYS and then the time expires and you cannot leave any. Have one today that I wanted to leave feedback on, message says "you must have a transaction with this person to leave feedback. Try signing in again then leave feedback". (can't quote word for word), but, HEY! I CAN leave feedback for someone ELSE so how does that work that I should sign in again? Besides, how did I get to the accounts page if it isn't ME?

I am so with you!!! I have been selling on Ebay for over a year and have had nothing but praises until this woman with ZERO feedback buys a tape from me and sends me a reply that it's for a friend and to send it to the address that I get on the soon to arrive check. I get the payment and it's a money order with no return address on envelope or order. Before I can even e-mail, I get a copy of some complaining e-mail this lady got from her "friend" whining about how SLOW I was and how disappointing her 1st experience was with EBAY. I replied with the situation, get the address, no apology, and THEN... my first negative feedback from some twit who had no idea what she was doing. What about the big WARNING of negative feedback fraud? I simply gave her negative feedback in return for good reason and posted a reply under mine so that people would understand. I think they do. But, I am very weary of selling to people with ZERO feedback and I think we can refuse them. I would like to from now on just to protect myself.

mlriche - ebay no longer converts NARU comments to neutral and hasn't for a very long time. I have 2 negs from 2 NARU'd bidders to prove it.

That is just another thing that doesn't make any sense. Positives change to Neutrals but not Negatives. You would think that since a seller's and buyer's reputation is based solely on their feedback that it shouldn't be so easy for someone to damage their reputation. Just register, bid away, don't pay and leave negatives for everyone!
