Had an auction winner from the UK (Wales) that won an auction 2 months ago today (3-14). I gave up on him just the other day and re-listed his item. Thank God I didn't neg this guy, because his payment finally showed, almost 2 months since he sent it and I was able to give him a positive fb. It's not his fault, but I told him he should consider sending payments Airmail from now on.
Yes, some of you had told me that it could sometimes take two months or longer from the UK (on the other thread about this). Also, I had a payment take 3 months to get here from Brazil once, but 2 or 3 months is definitely not the norm.
I had to cancel bids and stop the new auction. I guess you could say I jumped the gun re-listing his item, but how long is a person supposed to wait?

That sounds about right for an int'l airmail letter, though. Now it costs (from the U.S.) .80 for a half-ounce airmail letter. (Except to Canada or Mexico, which cost .60)
At any rate, I believe that you waited long enough and it seems like a fluke that the customer's letter took so long to reach you. Unless, of course, he didn't send it when he said he did.

And people are amazed that some sellers refuse to do International sales....
Loosecannon your patience is to be commended...

Glad it turned up loosecannon!
I remember that last thread , and how some people , myself included , said mail could be delayed that long sometimes, for a variety of reasons.
I sent packages last year in 9x12" envelopes ,to go airmail letter to UK, but they went surface by mistake (not mine!) and took six weeks.
What doesseem strange is that the buyer chose to send his payment by sea !!
It looks like I was mistaken about that. Everyone here says there is no such thing as a ground overseas letter, that they are all airmail. New one on me.

My patience was all used up. As I said, I gave up on him and re-listed his item a few days ago. Lucky it hadn't sold yet. But the best thing was that I decided (with advice from my wife and also someone here) not to neg him. Probably would have driven him away from ebay--to have paid as promised, then to get a neg.
