A few weeks ago I posted on here about a lost package situation. The bidder claimed he had never gotten it, we lost or threw away the DC mailing slip(Yes, I know that it was stupid I don't need to here it again). He claimed this one month after we sent the package. We filed a lost package form with our local USPS, still havent heard anything back from that. Since we felt bad that he did not get the package, we bid on a lot of magazines with the issue that had been "lost in the mail". We sent it off with signature confirmationand emailed to let him know. This has been weeks ago and on the USPS website it says the package is still in transit. The bidder will now not answer any emails. This is the strange part. We got to looking at the bidders old auctions and he has won (before and after) dozens of these magazines, same issue. We emailed the sellers to ask if they had any problems with the bidder and most answered "Yes, bidder claimed he did not receive package" What is up with that?

BTW
Lesson learned, we keep everything now! Since we dont do eBay fulltime and had never had a problem before we did get into the habit of throwing DC slips away after a couple weeks. My husband works fulltime, I carry around 18 hours at college and try to maintain a 3.7 g.p.a and I also run an Avon business well enough to be one of the top 30 sellers in a district of 300+, plus having asthma that has really been a #*!@ this last semester, I didn't pay much attention to what was going on on eBay. NOt making excuses just trying to get you all to understand why I might have misplaced or thrown away a DC slip from a transaction a month old.

On items with a value of over $25 or so, I started requiring insurance about six months ago. Several times, people have contacted me saying that the package never show up. USPS regulations require a statement from the recipient saying that the package never arrived. When I explain that it is a felony to file a fraudulent claim with the USPS, the package *always* arrives the next day. Funny how that one magic word, "felony" gets the USPS to jump into action, find that lost package, and deliver it the very next day!

You've got a lot on your plate...congratulations!

Since you are doing so well representing Avon, you've got all the tools necessary to be a success on eBay as well.....

Until I learned (here) about the "variability" of DC, I used it exclusively for items I sold. Now, I routinely add insurance for the item, which gets the recipient to sign for it when receiving it.....I consider it "enhanced" DC...

If you don't want the hassle of folks not wanting to pay for insurance, just add it into your starting bid price...

In your case, it sounds like you had a shady bidder....I wonder if eBay or the local postal inspector would be interested in their track record?

Best wishes for continued success!

Pat
