I have a Compaq Presario Laptop 1235. I need an either new or good used motherboard for it. I am desperately needing a replacement motherboard for it. If anyone has or knows of someone who does have this part, and will sell at a reasonable price(Compaq wants $1035 for it so their not an option) PLEASE contact me. I would greatly appreciate it so much. My email is [email protected].

Hello Jeff,
A new laptop motherboard is going to cost you mega-bucks, even used. And the resulting PC is still going to be an old, slow PC.
Recommend you take the $500-900 you'd need to spend on this repair and buy another PC. Shop very carefully for a used one that is clearly an upgrade for you. Or if you can swing it, you can find brand new ones many times faster than your current one for $1500 or thereabouts.
Do you really need a laptop? They're always price-y and always a little behind the curve technically.
You could buy a nice desktop PC for the price of a used board for that old Compaq laptop.
It's just not worth putting that kind of money into an old PC these days. Best of luck to 'ya..... Jan

If you are frantic because the machine died and you need the data, just buy a 2.5" to 3.5" notebook drive adapter cage (maybe $10.00) and mount the notebook's hard disk in a desktop pc and copy all of your data over. Then junk the notebook.
