Last night I read a discussion about how it is against eBay's rules to put a link in your auctions to your website. I also went to Safeharbor and it clearly stated that this was an illegal practice as well. Now here is my question. WHY IS EVERYONE UNDER THE SUN DOING IT AND GETTNG AWAY WITH IT? Several sellers that I have bookmarked do it, they have been doing it for a very long time and continue to do it!
The reason why I am really stumped over this is that I plan to start linking the website I am currently building and also plan on changing my eBay ID to the web address. Just like the other gazillion people on eBay!!! So how come everywhere I read they say this is such a big NO NO.

OK here is how I understand it Yes you can link to your website But only indirectly.
You can use thumb nail photos in your listing for your item that is linked to a larger picture(s) of your item you can have links to your website and or web stores there on that page as long as you dont have text stateing you have other items for sale .
you can also have a link to your personal Auction photo gallery on that page you can include link to your website and store as long as you dont mention or advertize other item that are for sale on the site.
you can also have one link to your about me page in your listing with a link to your website on your aboutme page. how ever you can not advertize other items for sale where you place the link to your store or website.
You can not Use watermark or embed your URL on your auction pictures if you were doing this to pervent others from useing your auction photos you can use your user name, How ever it is posiable to change your user name to your website address.
and you are allowed to have clickable email address in your listings.
what it comes down to is you can have a link to a page that has a link to your store and or website .
