Man, I haven't received a feedback in 4 days!

What's up with that? I've shipped out plenty of stuff lately.

I'm jonesing. I was starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel on the red star too.

It does seem to go like that - feast or famine.

I am sitting on 499, have one buyer who has been a real you-know-what and I am being paranoid about him deciding to give me my first neg, when I'm right on 500. If he does, I think I'll just have to get drunk, or something . . . .

They're too busy making STUPID BUYER REQUESTS! You know, shooting out daily emails wondering where their item is, how much is shipping...No time to leave feedback.

SKIP - DON'T SAY THAT! I'll have to get drunk anyway!

Actually, I just checked, and I'm at 500 . . .

I wonder if that's ever happened to anyone - they passed a milestone, like 500 or a thousand, and then the very next FB was a neg? Wouldn't that be a bummer!

How about when you're at 666 feedbacks, then you finally get to 667, then get a neg, go back to 666, etc.

Insert Twilight Zone music here...

loosecannon - I'll bet there are people who wouldn't bid on an auction where the seller had a feedback of 666!

When I hit 100, I stayed up late in the night because I just KNEW I would hit 100 that night. And I did, so excited to hit refresh and see the new star by my username.

The next day, I logged on to check my auctions, and I had a yellow star, and was at 99.

In those few hours, one of the people who had left me a positive went NARU and that was back when when someone went NARU that all their feedback went to neutral. It was days before I got another positive.

I'm 7 away from my red star, and I'm really getting ansy. I've dealt with some real jerks lately, too, and I can just see getting a neg at 1000.

I was stuck at 666 for about 1 week... Really freaked me out, I started to wonder if I was cursed.

kudsurose -- I once saw a seller get their red star, then get a negative, dropping them back down to 999.

I would have been sick.

But at least you could say you're one of the few people that got your star twice!

I wasn't excited in second grade when I received a star for whatever reason, and I'll surely not be excited now. It all seems pretty patronizing to be recognized in such a petty way. However, if ebay would block people leaving me pos/neg feedback that would make my day/year.

If you had 1000 feedback and dropped down to 999, then back up to 1000 wouldn't that be the ultimate rush???

quickdraw - eBay's recognition/the new star have nothing to do with my feelings of accomplishment in reaching another "milestone". I personally am very pleased, very satisfied with myself (for the moment), in that I reached 500 with no negatives. The star means nothing to me - as a matter of fact, if I had a choice, I'd prefer the previous color over the new one.

I once sold an item to a local dealer and asked that she wait to give me feedback until after I had a feedback number of 666! I just couldn't stand the thought of having that dreadful number next to my name for a minute. Turns out it was for about 6 hours, bad enough though.

Now, before you get all uptight about shill bidding. I had no idea she was even considering bidding on an item of mine, until I checked my list that day and boom there she was!

Off suject though, my hubby is so superstitious that if he sees a black cat cross in front of the path of our car, he will literally turn the car around and take a different route, drives me nuts on top of making us late!

As far as their being a drought, yeah, I've been sitting at 668 forever!

Edited to address the subject

I get a lot of thank you emails but they do not leave feedback Yesterday someone left me feedback that said I was a real "sweetheart" on the phone. Lately I have been getting non-ebay feedback. My UPS Man (who I have a big crush on) called me "Babe" and the counter manager at the mail box/store told me I am cute. Not too bad for a slow week

popnrock, LOL!

Seriously, I also get quite a few thank-you emails from people who never leave feedback.

I seem to have a knack for attracting low or no feedback bidders. Since I sell wedding items, I think that many of my customers just do hit-and-run purchases on ebay without paying much attention to the feedback process. A lot of the bridal magazines lately have been doing articles on "Finding your bridal bargains online" and ebay is featured prominently in many of these articles. Great for business, but a lot of people don't understand the feedback rating system. My feedback rate is about 1-2 feedbacks for every 10 auctions I run.
I leave feedback on ALL of my auctions and have recently put a little blurb in my email at shipping time that says "I have left you positive feedback on ebay, if you like your item, please consider doing the same for me!"
I'm always pleasantly surprised when I get a bidder with actual feedback! On the bright side, I've only ever had one NPB, so I consider myself lucky.
